Fountains in front of a building.
Curator’s statement

Las Vegas holds the special allure of an adult’s fantasy playground - which makes it the perfect place to get away, whether you want to stay busy or just lounge around. There’s a rumor that everything that happens there stays there, but on a trip like this, you’ll come home wanting to tell all! Las Vegas is a city with a rich, unique history that provides glitz and glam at every corner.

Things to do in Las Vegas

Poolside drinks during the daytime

Poolside relax - No matter where you’re staying, my number one daytime activity is relaxing by the pool with a drink. Start off your day right by taking it easy under the hot sun near cool water. If your hotel pool isn’t doing it for you, check out Drai’s Beach Club on the roof of The Cromwell hotel. It offers a stunning surrounding desert view.

See a show - Vegas is full of extraordinary artists, from musicians to magicians, acrobats, and more. Check out each hotel’s artist residency or show offerings and book your seat for an exciting after-dinner performance.

Fremont Street - Head Downtown into Old Vegas, which is off the beaten path of The Strip proper. Brimming with neon lights and Elvis impersonators, explore the landscape of 1950s Vegas. You can even zipline from four stories high over it all!

Bellagio Fountains - If you picture Las Vegas in your mind, it’s hard not to think of The Bellagio’s majestic fountains as a key image. These shows run regularly throughout the day, but stop by for a nighttime performance to get the best of its glory.

High Roller - Behind The Linq hotel, you’ll find a massive ferris wheel that will take you sky high over the strip. Especially beautiful at night, take advantage of this full-city view.

Night club - Aside from gambling, most of the big hotels offer an exclusive nightclub experience. Party like a rockstar of the big leagues in Sin City. The Omnia at Caesar’s Palace is a great choice!

Fabulous Las Vegas Sign - On the south end of the strip just past Mandalay Bay, you’ll find the famous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign! A common moniker of magnets and t-shirts, snap a quick photo under the real McCoy.

The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop - If you’ve ever been a fan of the tv show Pawn Stars, this is a cool place to swing by. Stop by to see what treasures they have in store, or just to see if they’ll make you an offer on whatever’s in your pockets.

The Sphere - One of the newest skyline additions to Vegas is a massive spherical building that’s covered with a screen. Designed as a music venue, you can catch your favorite artist inside, or simply marvel at the architectural wonder just passing by and enjoy the state-of-the-art imaging on the outside.

Day Trips

Hoover Dam is about a 45-minute drive from the heart of the city. It’s a great way to get a nice break from the hustle and bustle and get a good history lesson all at once.

About a five-hour drive southeast, the Grand Canyon is a bucket-list item for many. If you’ve got an extra day, rent a car and be sure to knock this one off the list!

Places to eat & drink in Las Vegas

Sandwich on a plate.

Ocean One - A popular first come, first serve breakfast spot offering delicious food and three-for-$12 cocktails with breakfast. What more can you ask for?

Eggslut - Located in the heart of The Cosmopolitan, this breakfast nook is famed for its egg sandwiches. With many creative offerings, it’s sure to satisfy.

Taco Bell Cantina - It may sound like a surprising choice, but the Cantina version of the beloved fast food chain offers many of its customer-favorite beverages with a 21+ kick. A boozy Baja Blast slushee is always on my list while I’m in town, and I’ll snag a burrito while I’m at it.

Nacho Daddy - A great spot for a casual lunch, this spot offers a variety of - you guessed it - nachos. The Thai Chicken nachos are can’t-miss.

Gem Korean BBQ - For $35/guest, it’s an all-you-can-eat menu. Not to mention the best Korean BBQ I’ve ever had.

Andiamo - Located inside The D hotel on Fremont Street, this upscale hidden steakhouse is a gem find. You can’t go wrong on this menu.

Blackout (Dining in the Dark) - Exactly as described. Take a stab at guessing the multi-course dinner menu in pitch-black darkness. It’s an incredible sensory experience and sure to be unlike anything you’ve ever done!

Tipsy Robot - Okay, okay, this isn’t food - but it’s very cool. Stop by to have a ceiling-mounted robot craft you a cocktail in a completely unmanned bar just inside the main doors of Planet Hollywood.

Need to know

Pack a good pair of walking shoes. Even though the strip is compact, not everything is close-by for a quick jaunt. Be prepared to walk, or grab an Uber multiple times per day. I highly recommend accommodations in the center of the strip. If you stay too far North or South, everything is a trek!
