Things to do in Colorado

Getting There

Fly into Denver International Airport (DIA) which is a 1.5-2 hour scenic drive to Breckenridge, although this time may vary depending on weather and traffic. There are many shuttle options or you can opt for a rental car.

Fly into Eagle County Regional Airport, which is ~1-1.5 hours from Breckenridge via shuttle or rental car.

Things to Do (Aside from Skiing/Snowboarding)

  • Frisco Adventure Park: Features a popular tubing hill where $36/person gets you an hour of unlimited snow tubing. Afterward, cozy up with a hot chocolate in the lodge. Located just 15-20 minutes from Breckenridge, the park offers not only tubing but also ski/snowboard lessons, sleigh rides and a dedicated sledding hill, providing a variety of winter activities!

  • Breckenridge Troll: Created by artist Thomas Dambo, the large wooden troll sculpture (aka Isak Heartsone) is a must-see in Breckenridge. Located a few minutes walk from the Ice Rink lot, it is easy to get to through a short trail.

  • Walk around town to explore the endless shops and snag some souvenirs for you and your loved ones. My personal favorite was Arctic Attitude for their high quality stitched sweatshirts.

  • Sapphire Point Overlook: A breathtaking panoramic view of Dillon Reservoir and the surrounding mountains. Easily accessible along Swan Mountain Road, about a 15 minute drive.

  • Snowmobiling: Cruise through the Rocky Mountains and soak up all of the winter scenery.

Places to eat & drink in Colorado

  • BreckFast: The ultimate morning haven featuring hearty breakfasts whether you're into sweet or savory.

  • Mi Casa Restaurant: Authentic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist on traditional dishes.

  • Tin Plate Pizza: A local favorite for delicious artisanal pizzas.

  • Fatty’s Pizzeria: A laid-back mountain vibe with a diverse menu including pizzas, sandwiches, and more.

  • Hearthstone: Upscale dining in a historic Victorian home in the heart of Breckenridge.

  • Gold Pan Saloon: one of Colorado’s oldest bars, dating back to the late 1800s, offering a casual atmosphere to grab a drink.

  • Breckenridge Brewery: Go-to spot in town, renowned for a variety of laid-back craft beers in a chill atmosphere.
