Things to do in Dallas

Shopping in Dallas

Explore the Bishop Arts District: This neighborhood of Dallas is filled with fun local shops, art galleries, and great restaurants.

Head to The Market at Dallas Farmer's market for a quick bite from their food hall. Or to The Shed to check out the local vendors selling everything from produce to vintage t-shirts.

If you're in the mood for live music, Deep Ellum is home to several venues hosting a wide variety of genres.

Visit one (or more) of the wonderful museums in Dallas' Arts District. The outdoor garden at the Nasher Sculpture Center is a must-see. The Dallas Museum of Art also can't be missed. It showcases a variety of art styles and forms, and is free to visit.

Klyde Warren Park is perfect for families or those just looking to spend an afternoon outdoors. The park features a playground, jogging track, food trucks, and much more. It also has a lending library where you can borrow a book, or a board game.

Day Trips:

While you're in the Dallas area, check out The Stockyards in Fort Worth. About an hour away, it's the perfect place to discover your inner cowboy. Grab some boots at one of the many boot shops, and then swing over to Flea Style's hat bar to create a custom cowboy hat and you'll be ready to cowboy up. Be sure to check out the daily cattle drive behind the Livestock Exchange Building at 11:30am and 4:00pm.

Places to eat & drink in Dallas

Cafe in Dallas

Otto's Coffee & Fine Foods:

This cute coffee shop located in The Adolphus is perfect for grabbing a quick bite. You must try their liege waffle, a hot caramelized waffle with chunks of pearl sugar mixed throughout.

Emporium Pies:

Located in the Bishop Arts District, this pie shop is as adorable as the pie is tasty. Their Lord of the Pies is a towering French apple pie, best eaten a la mode. For chocolate lovers, the Smooth Operator can't be beat. It has a silky chocolate filling inside a salty pretzel crust, delicious!

Taverna:

A great Italian spot with delicious pizza and pasta, also great for brunch! For brunch, I love their eggs Benedict. Their Katy Trail pizza is delicious, gooey cheese with meatballs on top of a crispy crust.

Overeasy:

Another fun brunch spot, located in the Statler. You can't go wrong with any dish that includes their biscuits!

Dolce Riviera:

This Italian spot is great for a date night. Their blue and white color scheme makes you feel like you're on the Italian coast. They have a great menu and wine list!

The Market at the Dallas Farmer's Market:

This fun food hall is great for a group that likes options. Perfect for a quick bite.

Eno's Pizza Tavern:

Located in the Bishop Arts District, Eno's serves delicious pizzas with creative toppings and a crisp crust.

The Wild Detectives:

Housed in a bookstore, the Wild Detectives is a fun, quirky place to grab a drink, whether you're in the mood for coffee or a cocktail.
