Things to do in Cabo San Lucas
Here are a few great hikes in Cabo:
Punta Lobos: This scenic hike starts just outside the front entrance of Hotel San Cristobal (one of my favorite hotels in Cabo!) and takes you along the coastline, allowing you to enjoy desert views, ocean vistas and even the opportunity to see whales and sea lions. There are several options on this hike-you can ascend to various scenic viewpoints or follow the trail down to the water's edge (just remember you must go up what you came down — but it will make that post-hike margarita even better!) This hike is the perfect way to start or end your day in Todos Santos.
El Arco Trail: This hike starts at the marina in Cabo San Lucas and takes you along the coastline to the iconic El Arco (The Arch) rock formation known as Lands End, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. This is a relatively easy hike combining stunning natural beauty with a sense of wonder and discovery.
Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve: Truly one of Baja California’s hidden gems, Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve offers diverse landscapes including pine forests, hidden waterfalls, refreshing swimming holes and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Trails vary in difficulty, giving you the opportunity to choose one that fits your skill level.
Sol de Mayo Waterfall: Located about an hour’s drive from Cabo San Lucas, this hike is a journey to a destination where the desert meets an oasis of lush greenery and a stunning waterfall. During this hike you will experience rugged desert landscape, ancient cacti, panoramic vistas of surrounding mountains and towering palm trees and vibrant wildflowers.
Divorce Beach and Lovers Beach Hike: This hike, which originates in the bustling marina area, takes you to two picturesque beaches accessible only by foot or boat. You will first arrive at Divorce Beach, which is a secluded beach characterized by its dramatic cliffs and powerful waves crashing against the shore. Continue along the trail and you will soon reach Lover’s Beach, a stark contrast to its neighbor. This tranquil cove boasts pristine white sands, calm turquoise waters and a sense of serenity that is so rejuvenating. Here you can relax on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters or discover the underwater wonders while snorkeling.
