Curator’s statement

The moment that you arrive at this charming fishing port town you know it’s going to be hard to leave. Your days are filled with exploring the coastal forests and swimming in the Adriatic, followed by nights of drinking crisp Croatian varietals and dining on local seafood. This quaint city looks like a storybook backdrop and it is the perfect destination for a romantic vacation or family holiday.

Things to do in Rovinj, Croatia

A beach with rocks under water, people chilling and trees.

Walk or rent bikes and enjoy the shaded trail through the alpine trees and oaks of the Golden Cape Forest Park. Even on hotter days the canopy of trees brings the temperature down significantly. Tip: Wear mosquito repellent bracelets.

Enjoy an aperol spritz or gelato from the beach bar at Mulini beach and swim in the crystal clear Adriatic sea. Tip: Even though they aren’t the most fashionable, don’t forget your water shoes unless you have a high pain tolerance for pebble beaches.

Follow the old city alleys up to enjoy the view from Saint Euphemia Church and have a coffee at the Caffe Bar XL.

Book a sunset dolphin cruise in a glass bottom boat before heading to dinner. You can’t walk on the harbor without running into a tour company. Everyone charges a similar price of around 20 euro. We saw a pod of dolphins and no other boats were around to disturb us which was pretty special. But you also get a look at the surrounding islands that you would otherwise miss.

Cruise the Carera Street shops and art galleries and shop for natural pearl jewelry and high quality olive oils.
