Day 1: Beach Fun and Downtown Adventures

Morning: Beach Time at Grand Haven State Park

Start your day early at Grand Haven State Park. Arrive by 9 am and set up your spot on the beach. Bring along sand toys, beach chairs and umbrellas for a comfortable day by the water. Let the kids build sandcastles and play beach games. Take a refreshing swim in Lake Michigan or try paddleboarding for a fun water activity (beach rentals located at City Beach)

Lunch: Picnic on the Beach

Pack a picnic lunch or grab a bite from a nearby beachside food stand or food truck. Enjoy your meal with a view of the lake and the sound of the waves. Another option is to get lunch downtown at of the local eateries, such as The Toasted Pickle or Lucy's Backyard.

Afternoon: Exploring Downtown Grand Haven

Head to downtown Grand Haven. Start with a leisurely stroll through the charming streets lined with boutique shops and local stores. Let the kids pick out a souvenir or two. Treat the family to some delicious ice cream from a local parlor like Temptations, The Pump House or Kilwins.

Evening: Dinner and Musical Fountain Show

Enjoy a family dinner at one of the local restaurants downtown. Consider dining at Snug Harbor for a waterfront view or The Kirby House for a variety of menu options. Head to the Grand Haven Musical Fountain. Arrive early to find a good spot along the waterfront. Enjoy the mesmerizing Musical Fountain show. Watch as the water jets dance to the music, creating a magical end to your first day in Grand Haven.

Day 2: Minigolf & Splash Pad

Breakfast: Local Favorites

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at a local favorite like Morning Star Café or Anna’s House. Hop on the Grand Haven Trolley for a nostalgic tour of the city. The trolley ride will take you through scenic streets and past key landmarks, providing a fun and educational experience for the whole family.

Lunch: Downtown Delights

Head back downtown for lunch. Choose from a variety of family-friendly eateries. Consider eating at Pronto Pup for a quick and famous corn dog or Electric Hero for gourmet sandwiches.

Enjoy some mini golf at Chinook Pier followed by some splash pad fun. Head back to the beach to splash in the waves or build sandcastles. Visit the North Shore Beach for a different beach experience.

Evening: Sunset and Farewell

Enjoy a casual dinner at Tip A Few Tavern for a taste of local flavor or venture to the East Town neighborhood to the Unicorn Tavern for a unique experience.

After dinner, head to the beach or the Grand Haven South Pier to watch the sunset. Capture some family photos with the iconic red lighthouse in the background. If you’re still in the mood for more fun, consider a second visit to the Musical Fountain or grab a final ice cream treat before heading back to your accommodations.
