Places to eat & drink in Seattle
Seafood
Rock Creek
Cuisine: Seafood and Pacific Northwest-inspired dishes.
Must-Try Dish: The Chilean Seabass is a highlight, but their Barbecued Spanish Octopus is also fantastic.
Ambiance: A rustic and cozy setting, perfect for savoring fresh seafood and local flavors.
Tip: Ensure you reserve a table at the restaurant beforehand to avoid any waiting time.
Seattle Fish Guys
Cuisine: Seafood market and restaurant.
Must-Try Dish: Enjoy their freshest selection of poke; the Salmon Belly Bowl is also my top pick.
Ambiance: A casual and friendly spot offering the best of the sea.
Tip: Mainly intended for takeout orders but also have outdoor seating options for those who prefer to dine in.
Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar
Cuisine: Oysters and shellfish.
Must-Try Dish: Enjoy the freshest selection of oysters and a variety of shellfish. The Moqueca-Brazillian Shellfish Stew is also very flavorful.
Ambiance: A classic seafood bar with a focus on oyster culture.
Tip: Make sure to drop by during happy hour when oysters are just $2.25 each, and you can enjoy geoduck for only $10.
Asian Flavors
The Boat Seattle
Cuisine: Vietnamese cuisine with a focus on Pho and chicken rice.
Must-Try Dish: Their flavorful James Beard–nominated chicken rice and the pandan waffle dessert are unforgettable.
Ambiance: A laid-back and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for authentic Vietnamese dining experience.
Tip: Dine in at the restaurant to enjoy the chicken while it's still hot and perfectly crispy.
Kobuta and Ookami
Cuisine: Japanese katsu dishes.
Must-Try Dish: The Tomato & Cheese katsu is irresistible and the Katsu Nabe is perfect for colder months.
Ambiance: A laid-back and cozy Japanese setting, perfect for katsu enthusiasts.
Tip: Typically quite busy in the evenings, would recommend arriving right when they open or during the daytime to avoid extended waiting times.
Chengdu Memory
Cuisine: Authentic and customizable Chinese Sichuan hotpot.
Must-Try Dish: The combination of Chengdu Spicy Soup and Chinese Herb Braised Pork Stomach Chicken Soup is an excellent choice for infusing your meat with delightful and savory flavors.
Tip: Often quite busy during dinner time, would recommend visiting during off-peak hours to easily secure a table.
Coffee and Desserts
Aroom coffee
Cuisine: Artisanal Vietnamese coffee and a selection of baked goods and light bites.
Must-Try Dish: Both the Sesame Latte and Egg Coffee strike a balance between creaminess and the distinctive bitterness characteristic of Vietnamese coffee.
Ambiance: Very aesthetic and welcoming coffee shop, perfect for a quick caffein fix.
Tip: An ideal location for socializing with friends or getting some work done while enjoying your coffee.
The Flour Box Donut
Cuisine: Gourmet brioche donuts and coffee shop that rotates flavors every 2 weeks.
Must-Try Dish: You can't make a bad choice when it comes to the donut flavors, but be sure to check for any allergens if you have dietary restrictions.
Ambiance: A charming and inviting donut shop with creative and ever-changing flavors.
Tip: The donuts tend to sell out quickly each day, so I recommend arriving approximately 30 minutes before their opening time to ensure you can get your hands on them.
