When I reminisce back to my time in Italy, all I can manage to think is, "take me back, puh-lease." Italy is a country that truly has something for everyone. Whether you want to dive into the rich history of Italy at one of their many museums, chat with locals at trattoria's or osterias during meals, explore a fashion capital, or lounge at a park, Italy is the place to be.

Things to do in Italy

Duomo, Milan: Admire the architecture and rich history of the Duomo.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II: Visit the worlds oldest shopping centre, and bask in all of its luxury offerings and gorgeous architecture that was spearheaded by architect, Guiseppe Mengoni.
Cantina Urbano Milano: Cantina Urbano Milano is the one-of-a-kind winery, as it is the only one in the city of Milan. While you can come here for a casual drink, or buy a range of wines that they have made, you can also tour the facility and learn about their brand while tasting delicious wines paired with different meats, cheeses, and breads.
Duomo and Basilica of Santa Croce: Visit Florence’s mesmerizing basilica and grandiose Duomo while getting lost in the Florentine streets, wander into shops and stumble upon the black-and-white, coin operated photo booth to solidify the memory, if you’re lucky!
Accademia Galleria: When visiting Florence, it is important to visit a space where you can learn so much about the history of Italy. This gallery is also home to the renowned Statue of David, by renowned artist, Michelangelo.
Castel Sant’Angelo: When visiting Rome, visiting Castel Sant’Angelo is a must. There is a rich history of Rome, from the art to the architecture, that you’re able to dive into when visiting that allows you to see how Rome has changed over time. You will also get stunning views of the city.
Colosseum and The Roman Forum: While I am sure we have all heard of the Colosseum and the Forum, it is absolutely breathtaking to see in person and hear the story from the locals and how their history has impacted them.
Vatican City: While Vatican City is considered the smallest country in the world, there is so much to explore and admire there. Whether you choose to tour the museum or admire Vatican Palace, you will be taken aback by the energy that fills Piazza San Pietro.

Places to eat & drink in Italy

Panzera Milani Pasticceria e Bistrot Milan: Delicious breakfast and dinner spot
Osteria Serafina Milan: Osteria Serafina is an elegant osteria offering delicious traditional gourmet Italian food with a warm ambiance. Some of my personal favorite were the “Sandwich al Diaframma” which is a black angus sandwich as well as “La Nostra Gricia” a creamy pasta spun in a cheese wheel with guanciale and black truffle
Bianco Latte Milan: Grab some sweet treats and a cappuccino at this expansive caffe with many different offerings from tiramisu to cheesecake.
Koko Florence: An upscale, Japanese restaurant and lounge that allows you to experience a modern take on traditional Japanese cuisine. Being able to have dinner, then grab a drink upstairs at the lounge while chatting and listening to music with some friends is a perfect way to end the night after walking around and visiting all of Florence’s shops.
Osteria dell’Olio Florence: If you’re looking for a casual dinner experience with delicious tagliatelle and Florentine steak, this is a wonderful option.
Da Vittorio a Trastevere: It is a bold statement to claim something as the “best” but I cannot speak more highly of this restaurant. The host/waiter welcomed me like family and was attentive and amazing the entire service. In addition, they had the best lasagna I had tasted as well delicious desert, including a tableside tiramisu.
Trattoria Pizzeria bar La Follia: When you’re looking for a quick spot to eat lunch, La Follia is a great option to grab a casual meal out in the sun.
La Licata: A wonderful option to grab breakfast or lunch that has a local feel which a relaxed atmosphere.
