Things to do in Nafplio
Visit the Palamidi Castle- Located on a hill overlooking the town of Nafplio, it offers stunning views of the Argolic Gulf and the surrounding area. The castle is well preserved, and it includes fortresses, bastions and walls connected with a steep staircase known as the 'one thousand steps".
Take a boat to the Bourtzi Castle- Located very close to the town on a small island, this medieval fortress served as a prison and is now one of the main attractions of Nafplio.
Explore the traditional paths of Nafplio, packed with restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. The architectural design in combination with the Bougainvillea flowers makes it a must-see destination.
Spend the day at one of the nearby beaches:
Karathona beach is the most popular one with crystal clear waters and beautiful nature. It is organized with sun beds.
Arvanitia beach is a small, pebbled beach with a relaxing atmosphere and is located near the Old Town.
Tolo is an organized, long sandy beach with shallow waters making it ideal for families.
Places to eat & drink in Nafplio
Scuola- An Italian restaurant well known for its pizza and pasta.
To Teloneio- Located near the main marina, this tavern offers Greek traditional food, including the Greek Choriatiki salad and souvlaki.
Valaora Restaurant and Bar- Located at the poolside of Anthemion Suites & Villas, it offers Greek gastronomy through a series of new dishes dedicated to the art of Mediterranean cuisine.
