Curator’s statement

Having had the pleasure of spending time in Sicily, I can't emphasize how important it is to see as much of it as you can. If you are based in a villa, this gives you the perfect opportunity to take day trips all over the island. Renting a villa in Sicily gives you a base where you can lounge by the pool or host a cooking class in "your own" kitchen are just a few of the benefits to renting a villa here.

Day Trips:

A few day trips would include:

Taormina:

A charming hilltop town known for its ancient Greek theater and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, not to mention White Lotus season 2.

Mt Etna:

Not only famous for the wine made from grapes grown in the lava-rich soil, but Europe's tallest active volcano. Experience the lunar landscapes, volcanic craters and lava flows while learning about the region's geological history.

Valley of the Temples:

A UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing a collection of ancient Greek ruins. Well-preserved Doric temples, including the Temple of Concordia, Temple of Juno and Temple of Hercules.

Syracuse:

A historic city with a wealth of archaeological treasures and Baroque architecture. Visit the Cathedral of Syracuse, the Fountain of Arethusa and the ancient Greek theater, followed by a stroll along the waterfront promenade.

Palermo:

The vibrant city, and capital of Sicily, has the Palantine Chapel and Monreale - two gold churches which will blow you away.
