Day 1: Arrive and visit Country Club Plaza

As you arrive in Kansas City, whether via the newly built KCI airport or by driving across a few Midwestern states, your first stop should be the Country Club Plaza. With a wide variety of restaurants, there's something to please everyone. For a lighter bite, try The Classic Cup or for a cocktail with a view, try Prime Social.
The Plaza also offers shopping from popular name brands to local boutiques. If you're still searching for that picture-perfect concert outfit, you'll find it here. Before heading to check into your hotel, be sure to stop by Made in KC for a great selection of Kansas City-themed products, all locally made and sourced.
Day 2: Try local bites before your show

As you prepare to see your favorite artist, start your morning with coffee at Messenger Coffee, Thou Mayest or the Filling Station. If you're visiting on the weekend, head to the River Market on the Street Car to enjoy the skyline and local vendors.
For dining before the concert, you can't leave Kansas City without trying some BBQ. Local favorites include Jack Stack, Q39 and the original Joe's BBQ, which started in a gas station.
If you prefer to grab a few drinks before the show, Percheron (during the summer months), Parlor, Voo Lounge or Night Hawk in the Kansas City Hotel offer great drinks and even better atmospheres.
Day 3: Check out KC's museums

If you have time to stay another day in Kansas City after the concert, start your morning with brunch at local restaurants such as Lula Southern Cookhouse or the French creperie, Seven Swans. For a bottomless brunch, check out the Street Car Grill and Tavern or Brick House.
After enjoying mimosas and French toast, explore some of KC's amazing museums. For art enthusiasts, visit the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art or the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. If you're with a sports buff, head to the College Basketball Experience or the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Music lovers should not miss the American Jazz Museum and those who enjoy history should check out the World War I Museum (it also has the best view of the city).
Need to know
While most of Kansas City is walkable or accessible through the Streetcar, concerts at Arrowhead prove to be a challenge with transportation due to limited hotels nearby. It is recommended once you have booked your hotel, plan your transportation to the stadium. Share-ride drivers will be willing to drive you there but have a hard time returning after the event.
