Things to do in Connecticut

A well-lit front porch with cozy seating and charming decor welcomes you home.
  • Dine at Cava in Southington, CT: Enjoy a Beauty and the Beast theme without having to go all the way to Disney — and it's a money saver.

  • Stay at the Mayflower Inn: Very similar to the Independence Inn from Gilmore Girls plus a great spa.

  • Visit Washington, CT and feel like you are on the set of Gilmore Girls: It's only an hour away from Hartford or New Haven, CT.

  • Go to the Po’s Cafe that is just like Luke’s Diner from Gilmore Girls.

  • Visit the “Cultural Capital of Connecticut,” New Haven: Choose from museum tours, ghost tours, food tours, an International Festival of Arts and Ideas and theater tours.

  • Visit Hartford: There's lots of art, Pratt Street Historic District and The Mark Twain House & Museum.

Day trips:

  • Washington, CT is a great day trip, as well as the wineries in Stonington.

Places to eat & drink in Connecticut

A cozy dining setup with four people enjoying a meal together.
  • Cava: Italian fare with the freshest ingredients, and an unforgettable dining experience. Plus, there's rooftop seating available!

  • Po Cafe: A cafe where farm-fresh is fun and trendy! Make sure you try the lobster roll, or express your inner "Gilmore Girl" and order one of their burgers. Catch live music at Music on the Green on Friday nights during the summer!

  • The Whelk: Fresh seafood and an ever-changing menu! Experience elevated dining in a relaxed environment.

  • Tavern On State: Elevated cocktail bar, amazing food and a great spot for brunch.

  • Oyster Club: Want to go somewhere sustainable and that supports the local community? This is your place! They also have the cutest "treehouse," where you can dine in a treetop oasis above the Mystic River!

  • Camacho Garage: Contemporary Mexican street food utilizing fresh, seasonal local ingredients.

  • Don Memo: Connecticut's nod to true Mexican spirit and culture. Don't miss out on their happy hours!

  • Chip’s Family Restaurant: Family-owned and pushing the envelope for creativity in home-cooked meals.

  • Olmo Bagels: Who doesn't love a great bagel? These bagels are boiled by steam only, so they are one-of-a-kind with a crisper crust.

Need to know

This could be considered a family vacation spot, but the Gilmore Girls-themed areas make it great for a girls' trip.
