Day 1: Arrive in Bordeaux
Explore the historic center
Bordeaux can be reached by a direct flight to its accessible airport or easily by train from other major cities in France.
After checking into your hotel, explore the walkable historic center of the city. Stroll through the cobbled streets and take in the stunning architecture and vibrant atmosphere. Visit the Place de la Bourse, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This stunning square features a reflecting pool that creates a mesmerizing optical illusion and is dominated by the Grand Théâtre. The view at sunset is truly breathtaking.
Wrap up your evening with a lovely meal at one of the many restaurants around the city. Hidden gems like Yarra in the Chartron neighborhood sit on a quiet street with a delightful patio and wine list with something for everyone’s palate.
Day 2: Wine country
Choose your own adventure!
Dedicate a day to embark on a sensory journey through Bordeaux's famous wine regions. From full-bodied reds to elegant blends, Bordeaux offers a diverse range of flavors to explore.
Saint-Émilion: Discover the Right Bank of Bordeaux, known for its full-bodied, structured wines with notes of black currant, plum and spice. Saint-Émilion is famous for its Merlot-based blends, but Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are also important grape varieties.
Médoc: Explore the Left Bank of Bordeaux, renowned for its elegant, age-worthy wines with notes of black currant, cedar and tobacco. Médoc is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, but Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec are also used.
Pomerol: Visit the small, family-owned wineries of Pomerol, known for its rich, opulent wines with notes of black cherry, chocolate and leather. Pomerol is primarily known for its Merlot-based wines, but Cabernet Franc is also a popular component.

Day 3: Leisurely day in Bordeaux

Panshop Cafe: Enjoy brunch at this charming establishment, soak in the cozy atmosphere, delicious pastries and a variety of specialty coffees.
Market Shopping: Experience the local lifestyle by visiting one of the many vibrant markets found in the city center. Purchase fresh produce, cheeses and other delicacies to enjoy during your stay.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a riverside restaurant, savoring the delicious cuisine and stunning views of the Garonne River.
Day 4: Sun and sea
Take a day trip to the Dune du Pilat, Europe's tallest sand dune. Hike to the top for breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Arcachon Bay. (Small group/private tour recommended)
Discover the nearby charming coastal town of Arcachon, nestled amid a vibrant oyster-farming community. Explore the lively market, stroll along the promenade. Indulge in a delicious oyster tasting at a top local restaurant like La Cabane du Tapioou, renowned for its fresh, locally sourced seafood. The oysters fresh from the local farmers are mouth-watering!
Day 5: Wine tour
For the wine lovers, take this day to explore one of the two remaining wine regions that weren’t explored on day two. Or see some well-known city attractions like the Darwin Eco-Systeme or Cité du Vin (wine museum).
Need to know
Farewell to Bordeaux
Take a leisure stroll through the Old Town one last time, soaking up the charming atmosphere. Stop in at the Jardin Public and grab a crepe on the patio of L’Orangerie cafe.
