Day 1: Arrival

We arrived the international airport on Mahé. Once through immigration, we made our way to the island of Praslin. There are three ways to get there, ferry, domestic flight, helicopter. Highly recommend the helicopter option, especially if staying at Raffles, as they have a helipad on property. After checking in, it’s time to claim a lounge chair and sip a cocktail on the beach. It’s been a long trip and we are a bit tired. We enjoyed a delightful dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: La Digue island

Today we enjoyed a lovely breakfast buffet at the hotel. There was an al-a-carte menu as well. Lots of fresh fruits. We had the hotel arrange for a transfer to the ferry dock where we took the 10 am ferry to the island of La Digue. There are no cars on the island, so you either ride on the back of a cart or rent a bike. We chose the bike. We followed the path through L’Union Estate past large tortoises to Anse Source d’Argent. This beach is one of the most photographed beaches. It is stunning. We spent a couple of hours sitting on the beach, splashing in the water, taking pictures and drinking fresh coconut water. We rode back towards and past the ferry dock to Bikini Bottom, a beachfront bar where we enjoyed a couple of beers and chips. Finally, our day came to an end. We rode back to the small town and strolled in and out of the small shops till it was time to take the 5 pm ferry back to Praslin.
Day 3: Relaxation

Today, relax! Bask at the pool, the beach, the private plunge pool in your room. Take this opportunity to enjoy a couples massage, read a book. The lunch served at the pool was as good as the cocktails they served. It was quite a lovely day. Dinner again was at the hotel.
Day 4: Island exploration

Today, we rented a car and explored the island. There is one main road that circumvents the island, almost. Our first stop was the quiet beach of Anse Lazio. Very few people were on this beach. It was big and beautiful. From there, we made our way to the center of the island and visited the Vallée de Mai, home to the coco de mer nut. We toured a small part of the forest. We continued on our path around the island. We stopped for lunch at Lobster Bay, where the octopus and the red snapper were highly recommended. Continuing, we made our way to Anse Georgette for a stunning sunset. This small, secluded beach is on the Constance Lemuria property. You must park your car at the gate and then walk to the beach, about 20 minutes. So leave plenty of time. I promise it is worth it. We made our way back to the hotel. We enjoyed a special menu that evening. It was Indian cuisine night at one of the restaurants.
Day 5: Snorkel & local fare

Today we did a full-day private snorkel tour. The company arranged for a hotel pickup. We were taken to 8 different spots on multiple islands. The snorkeling was great. We saw all kinds of fish and coral. Came across a few sharks. Our guide was a lot of fun and made the day unforgettable. Midday, we were taken to the island of Curieuse and were prepared a local BBQ lunch. After we were taken to a turtle sanctuary where we got up close to these gentle giants. When the day was over, we were dropped off on the beach of our hotel. It was the perfect way to end this part of our trip.
Day 6: The island of Mahé

Today we moved to the island of Mahé. Again, there are three ways to get there. We chose to take a domestic flight. Upon arrival, we rented a car and made our way to the Kempinski. Along the way, we stopped at Kafe Kreol for lunch. Food was great and tables were on the beach. We spent the rest of the day at the beach and pool once we got checked in.
Day 7: Beach & cuisine

Today was another day to just relax. Lunch at the beachside bar was very good. And this evening we did a culinary experience at the hotel. Le Petit Chef is an immersive experience with an animated “chef” projected on your table. The courses you are served go along with the story the chef is telling. It was quite entertaining as well as delicious.
Day 8: Perfume & distillery

Today we explored Mahé. After breakfast we headed to the Coco de Mer perfume factory to buy souvenirs only found in the Seychelles, perfumes made from the coco de mer nut. We stopped at the Takamaka Rum Distillery and took a tour and did a tasting. Who knew that they made such good rum in the Seychelles? After that we went into Victoria, the capital, and had lunch at Maria Antoinette. We had the signature board which is a sampling of local dishes. So much food. And so good. We wandered around the town for a bit stopping in little stores and having a coffee at Glorious Bakery. We continued on our journey and circled around to the other side of the island where we caught another stunning sunset. Still full from our large lunch, we had a late dinner at the hotel.
Day 9: Farewell

Today is the final day in the Seychelles. Our flight is this evening, so we had all day to relax at the beach. What a glorious week it has been
Need to know
Seeing the islands from the water is a must. The snorkeling was very good. If only one island, then Praslin. Found the people to be very helpful, islands easy to navigate, reasonably priced
