Things to do in Positano

A couple enjoying the Positano views.

Shopping and exploring

Discover the charm of the narrow alleyways as you explore the many shops along the way. There are many merchants with some of the best local goods like handmade ceramics, breezy tops and dresses, leather goods, and of course, limoncello.

Relax by the sea

Relax as you lounge near the pristine coast at one of the beaches. Reserving a spot at one of the beach clubs is a sure way to guarantee ultimate luxury and relaxation. Just imagine pre-booking the location of your spot on the beach and when the day arrives, relaxing in the warm Italian sunshine having food and drinks delivered without ever having to leave your perfect spot! My personal favorite is La Scogliera!

Boat day

Enjoy a boat day to explore the Amalfi Coast beyond Positano! Renting or chartering a boat is a great way to see more of the beautiful coastline whether you visit one of the grottos, enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea, take a day trip to Carpi or just enjoy the ride and take in the scenic adventure.

Hike

Get your steps in and enjoy the view as you hike The Path of The Gods. This will offer you sweeping views of Amalfi Coast and Capri. You can plan for a half day as this will take about three hours and is considered a light hike.

History

Interested in ancient sights and history? Take a day trip to visit the ancient city of Pompeii, where you’ll be able to walk and explore with an archaeological guide. While you’re there, treat yourself to the veritals of local wines from the volcanic region.

Cooking class

Immerse yourself in the culture by taking a cooking class! A great way to experience Italian cuisine and learn along the way. Having a local instruct you in preparing some of the freshest food you will enjoy is sure to treat your taste buds!

Night life

Dance the night away at the famous Music on the Rocks nightclub! This unique cave-like club is carved out of a cliff by the sea. Open every night offering DJ sets, dancing and of course, cocktails to satisfy you until the early morning hours!

Places to eat & drink in Positano

Lunch with sea view at La Scogliera.

Positano has amazing restaurants offering some of the freshest seafood dishes you can find in Italy. My go-to order is always Linguine with Clams (Linguine alle Vongole)! I highly recommend making reservations to make sure you get a table at the restaurant of your choice.

Ristorante Max was one of our favorite restaurants we visited in Italy!

Chez Black is a staple restaurant right off the beach. My husband still talks about the pizza he had!

IL Tridente has a wonderful outside patio with amazing views of the city and the sea below!

Ristorante Bruno offers outdoor seating along the main road that allows for beautiful views of Positano.

Buca di Bacco is located right off the beach, providing a refreshing breeze and sweeping views of the sea.

Misaki is a sushi restaurant for those wanting a break from pasta and pizza.

Franco’s is a rooftop bar that is a must-visit for drinks! Sunset views are a dream!
