Day 1: Arrival & Adjust to Island Time

ARRIVE & DIVE INTO THE EXPLORERS KIDS CLUB

Upon landing, make your first stop the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Make sure you've downloaded the app Baha Mar to stay in the know! If you've booked the Grand Hyatt Reserve, get ready for expansive views, a 24/7 butler and exclusive bites and wine service in the lobby. After check-in, whisk the kids away to the Explorers Kid’s Club. They’ll plunge into a world of fun and adventure, perfect for young explorers eager to learn and play. This gives you the perfect moment to start unwinding in the serene beauty of Baha Mar. Be sure to check out the neighboring SLS & Rosewood properties. (Pro Tip: Arrange a seamless transport from the airport directly with Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. They were prompt, reasonably priced, and as a trusted partner, I knew it was safe.)

LUNCH AT COSTA

For your first meal, head to Costa for a taste of Latin American-inspired dishes with a Bahamian twist. The kids will love the koi pond and the swing seats. Get the guacamole to start. It's the best way to vibe for the days to come.

EXPLORE THE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Dive into the natural beauty of the Bahamas with a visit to the wildlife sanctuary located within Baha Mar. Meet vibrant flamingos, curious sea turtles and other native species. It’s a hands-on learning experience about the island's ecosystem and conservation efforts. Animal Feed & Touch Tank demonstrations take place at regular intervals throughout the day. Children under three are free with a paid adult. You can also upgrade your experience with The Ultimate Wildlife Experience, an intimate private tour. However, this experience is not recommended for children under the age of eight.

AFTERNOON SWEET TREAT AT SUGAR FACTORY

Treat yourselves at the Sugar Factory in the afternoon. It’s not just a restaurant. It’s an experience, with over-the-top desserts and a dazzling atmosphere that’s sure to enchant both kids and adults.

ROOM SERVICE & EARLY NIGHT

After a day of travel and exploration, I love to order room service for dinner. It’s my go-to method for helping the kids adjust to a new setting and ensuring everyone gets ample rest for the adventures that lie ahead. It’s a cozy, relaxing way to round off your arrival day.

OPTION: Feeling adventurous and no one is melting down yet? Check out Fi'lia for dinner. You can expect fresh ingredients, handmade breads, pastas, and their signature tableside Caesar salad. The pizza is the star of the show made with Naples' Oldest Mill Antico Caputo Flour and their house-made sourdough starter and fresh yeast. It's stretched to order and is served with a thin crust that is both light and fluffy, while still maintaining the perfect crunch.

Day 2: Baha Bay Water Park

An aerial view of the Baha Bay during the daytime of greenery and the water.

COFFEE FIRST!

Coffee is always first on my agenda, and I loved that there is a Starbucks located directly in the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Just a heads up, they don't accept the Starbucks app at this location.

SPEND THE DAY AT BAHA BAY WATER PARK

Kickstart your day at the 15 beachfront acres, Baha Mar Water Park. As a Baha Mar guest, you have unlimited access to all 24 waterslides, the surf simulator, wave pool, lazy river and plenty more! (Pro Tip: Book a Cabana in one of the four convenient locations offered. The best part is having your own VIP cabana server)

If you have toddlers or younger children, head over to Turtle Beach. There, you can choose from a number of kid-sized slides, fountains and shallow pools.

LUNCH AT THE MARKET

With three venues, everyone can pick something they'll love. Cleo's Grill is the best stop for fresh, elevated Mediterranean fare. Sam's Crispy Chicken has one of the best chicken sandwiches around and 818 Shack features delicious cocktails and Mexican-inspired bites.

DINNER AT MARCUS AT BAHA MAR FISH + CHOP HOUSE

Cap off the day with a beachfront dinner at Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House. (Make sure to secure a reservation!) It’s an exceptional spot to enjoy gourmet dishes with the backdrop of a Bahamian sunset. The Marcus' Cornbread with Spiced Rum Butter can't be missed and the Baked Mac & Cheese is a hit with kids and adults alike. (Pro Tip: Marcus is included as one of the several restaurants at Baha Mar that Kids 5 and under eat free with a paid adult entrée.)

Day 3: Fun in the Sun

An aerial view of the water running between green palm trees during daytime.

POOL AND/OR BEACH DAY

With 11 pools to choose from, you'll be able to find a spot in the action. Families hoping to secure prime real estate at the pool should plan to arrive as early as possible. Dean's Blue Hole pool is always a hit. It features mini cliffs to jump and make a big splash, including a 15ft jump!!! While you're splashing around, the whole family will love the built-in aquarium, which is home to sharks and other marine life you can right up next to!

When you're ready for a change of scenery, visit Cable Beach. Here you'll find a complimentary rental program offering stand-up paddleboards, single and double kayaks, water hammocks, floating lounges, personal floats, snorkels and masks. Sunsets here are incredible, but we loved spotting incoming cruise ships too.

LUNCH WITH A VIEW

There are a number of food truck style restaurants to choose from, but when in the Bahamas, seafood just feels right. Check out Da' Poke Bowl Shack for some of the freshest seafood around. Finish it off with a quintessential fresh coconut or Hawaiian shaved ice.

MINI BLUE MINI GOLF

Up for a little competitive fun? Check out this 18-hole miniature golf course, one of the newest additions to Baha Mar. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase if you need a little pick-me-up.

OPTION: Drop the kids off at the Explorer's Club and relax by Bungalow pool at the SLS Baha Mar. Be sure to order the Exotic Fruit Salad, it's SO worth it.

DINNER AT KATSUYA

Just like the other restaurants, on site, reservations can be tough to come by and do require prior planning. If you've missed out and are traveling sans kids (or they're at the Explorer's Club), try to snag a seat at the bar. The service and food are every bit as good as at a traditional table. Order the spicy tuna and crispy rice plus either of the edamame dishes to start, followed by the lobster, tiger or baked crab roll. You really can't go wrong here!

Day 4: Quick Breakfast & Departure

An aerial view of Exotic fruit salad served on a table during the daytime.

BREAKFAST AT CAFE MADELINE

Come here for the croissant I'm still dreaming about! They have a gorgeous outdoor terrace with plenty of tables to enjoy your breakfast with a view. While you're there, check out the ‘ripple machine’. You can upload a picture from your phone to the ripple machine app and then it will print onto the top of your latte. How cool is that?!

GAME ZONE

Before heading home, check out the over 50 games available, including the World's Largest Pacman. There's plenty of both new and old favorites to choose from, including my personal favorite, skeeball glow.

DEPARTURE

Hopefully you secured a late check-out by booking with your trusted Travel Advisor (aka ME!) but all good things must come to an end. Head to the lobby to meet your pre-arranged airport transport and away you go. (Pro Tip: download the Mobile Passport Control app. Using the app will reduce passport control inspection time and overall wait time.)
