Curator’s statement
My husband and I took a trip out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming this December and it was the perfect couple’s weekend getaway! Jackson Hole is a popular destination year-round. With hiking, biking, horseback riding and more in the warm months and of course the world-class skiing and snow activities in the winter. There’s direct flights from Dallas to Jackson, so it was very easy to get to! You can either stay in the town of Jackson or Teton Village, which is just 30 minutes further out.

Things to do in Jackson Hole

The main winter activity in Jackson Hole is skiing/snowboarding, but if you aren’t a fan there’s still plenty to do! Some other activities include snowmobiling, dog sledding, wildlife safari tours, sleighing through the elk refuge and of course, visiting Grand Tetons or Yellowstone National Park. We wanted to go snowmobiling, but there wasn’t quite enough snow yet in early December. So we opted to do the wildlife tour and were taken through Grand Teton and saw bison, elk, sheep and eagles. Definitely spend some time in the town of Jackson and walk around the shops and art galleries, and of course, take photos at the iconic antler arches on the main square. We went to the famous hat store, Kemo Sabé and had a custom hat made and it was such a fun experience!
