Things to do in Mexico City

National Museum of Anthropology – One of the most important museums in Latin America, this museum houses the famous Aztec Sun Stone and countless artifacts from Mexico’s pre-Hispanic civilizations. It’s a must-visit for history lovers!
Xochimilco’s colorful canals – Spend an afternoon floating through the canals of Xochimilco aboard a trajinera, a colorful traditional wooden boat. Along the way, enjoy snacks, live mariachi music and the festive atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Lucha Libre at Arena México – The energy inside the world’s oldest Lucha Libre arena is electric! From masked wrestlers performing high-flying moves to the passionate cheers of the crowd, this is an entertaining and uniquely Mexican experience.
Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul - The bright blue walls of Frida Kahlo’s former home are filled with her artwork, personal belongings and insight into her fascinating life. Seeing her studio and famous dresses up close is incredible.
Diego Rivera Murals - Rivera brings Mexico’s history and political struggles to life through his murals. Admire Diego Rivera’s Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in Alameda Park at the Museo Mural Diego Rivera and Man at the Crossroads at the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
Hot air balloon over Teotihuacan – Just outside of the city, don’t miss out on soaring above the ancient Pyramids of the Sun and Moon at sunrise. This is an unforgettable way to see these historic ruins.
Chapultepec Park & other green spaces - Mexico City has incredible parks that provide a refreshing break from the bustling city. Chapultepec Park, the “lungs of the city,” is twice the size of Central Park and home to museums, a zoo and the historic Chapultepec Castle. Don’t miss strolling through Alameda Central, the city’s oldest public park, where you'll relax among locals, fountains and sculptures.

La Esquina Del Chilaquil - A true street food gem! This unassuming food stand in Condesa serves legendary torta de chilaquiles — a sandwich stuffed with crispy bread, salsa-soaked chilaquiles, crema, cheese and your choice of meat. It’s messy, delicious and worth the wait in line.
Panadería Rosetta - This beloved bakery from Chef Elena Reygadas is famous for its roles de guayaba (guava rolls), but all of the pastries are delicious. Grab a coffee and enjoy a slow morning in Roma Norte.
El Cardenal - A Mexico City institution known for its traditional breakfast. Order the chocolate caliente (hot chocolate), served in a traditional clay pot, and don’t miss the chilaquiles.
Contramar - One of the best places for seafood in the city, Contramar is known for its tuna tostadas and famous pescado a la talla, which comes with red and green sauces.
Taquería Orinoco - A late-night taco favorite serving some of the best tacos al pastor in the city. Their signature chicharrón taco is extra crispy and flavorful, and their house-made salsas take everything to the next level.
Pujol - A must-visit for food lovers, Chef Enrique Olvera’s tasting menu is a celebration of Mexican flavors with modern techniques. The mole madre is a standout dish. Reservations are essential!
El Hidalguense - Only open on weekends, this casual eatery specializes in barbacoa de borrego (slow-roasted lamb) and is one of the best places in the city to try this regional specialty. Pair it with pulque, a traditional fermented agave drink.
Limantour - A sleek and stylish cocktail bar that consistently ranks among the best in Latin America.
Baltra Bar - An intimate, Darwin-inspired cocktail bar in Condesa with a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. The seasonal cocktails make it a great spot for a pre-dinner drink.
