Day 1: Fly into Redmond Airport

icy mountains

Check into your hotel and wander the charming streets of downtown Bend and find a bite to eat. Bend Brewing Company is located along the beautiful Deschutes River with delicious food and beer. Afterward, if you’re feeling up for a sweet treat, stroll over to Bonta for locally made and delectable gelato.

Day 2: Tumalo mountain hike & food trucks

Icy Mountains

Begin your day by heading to Sparrow Bakery for a cup of joe and the infamous Bend Ocean Roll.

Afterward, stop by Newport Market to grab a sandwich and snacks before heading to your hike. Drive up Century Drive and head to Dutchman Flat parking lot to access the trail for Tumalo Mountain.

Tumalo Mountain is a steep two-mile hike to the summit and will leave you in awe, as you take in sweeping views of the Three Sisters and Mount Bachelor.

Once you complete your hike, head back to town and grab a much-deserved pint at Good Life Brewery. There are many food trucks you can try for dinner, including the Podski, located in the Box Factory. You can’t go wrong with any of the food truck options here.

Day 3: Brunch, paddle, Thai feast

Lake in bend

Have a leisurely morning and head to brunch at Lemon Tree for the best breakfast in Bend.

Afterward, head to Tumalo Creek’s kiosk at River Bend Park to pick up a kayak rental and hit the water!

Once you finish your day on the water, you’ll be tired from all the fun in the sun. It’s time for a siesta. Relax at your accommodations or grab a blanket and relax at Drake Park near downtown.

For dinner, you’ll want Wild Rose, which has the best Thai food and arguably the best food in town. Don’t forget to make reservations ahead of time, as Wild Rose is very popular.

After you’ve filled up on an amazing meal, either head back to your accommodations and relax for the evening; or if you have the energy head to San Simon for a delightful cocktail or mocktail.

Day 4: Smith Rock kike, farewell brews

Water and mountains

It’s your final day exploring Bend and no trip to Bend would be complete without hiking at Smith Rock State Park.

After you check out and head to Smith Rock, stop by Mimi’s Bagels, an under-the-radar food truck with the best bagels in Central Oregon. Just before Smith Rock in Terrebonne, stop at Oliver Lemons for snacks for the hike first. Don’t forget you’ll need lots of water, too.

Once you arrive at Smith Rock, you’ll hike the Misery Ridge trail. Note, this hike is not for the faint of heart, but the views you’ll be rewarded with are worth it.

Once you’re finished, you’ll be near Redmond Airport to catch your flight that evening. If you have time beforehand, stop by one last brewery, Wild Ride in Redmond for apres hiking food and beer.
