Curator’s statement
New Orleans in the fall is an enchanting experience, especially for those with a fascination for the spooky and the occult. As the city prepares for Halloween, the atmosphere becomes mysteriously alluring. With its historic cemeteries, voodoo shops and ghostly legends, New Orleans offers a unique blend of the eerie and the intriguing. The fall season brings cooler weather, making it the perfect time to explore haunted tours, indulge in Creole cuisine and immerse yourself in the city's bewitching culture. If you're drawn to the supernatural, there's no better place to embrace the mystique of New Orleans than in the crisp autumn air.

Things to do in New Orleans
Around Town
NOLA is steeped in history, both the cultural and the creepy. Easy your way into the Big Easy with a city tour. I recommend the Three Hour City Tour, to visit the French Quarter, the Lower 9th Ward, Garden District, the Warehouse District, Lake Lawn Metairie and ending at the St. Louis Chapel. Or if you prefer a little more freedom, do my personal favorite, the Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus Tour. Make your own itinerary or I can help you, and explore over 30 must see attractions.
Music
To visit the birth place of Jazz and not "jazz it up" is sacrilegious! To immerse yourself in the rhythm of the city, don't miss the Steamboat Natchez Evening Jazz Cruise with its enchanting live jazz performances against the backdrop of the Mississippi River. For an intimate jazz bar experience, head to the legendary Preservation Hall, where the soulful melodies of jazz have been celebrated for decades.
Restless Spirits
If you're up for a thrill that goes beyond music and history, brace yourself for the "New Orleans Original Ghost, Voodoo, Vampire, and Mystery Tour." It's like a supernatural rollercoaster through the city's mystical underbelly. But wait, it gets spookier! If you're feeling exceptionally fearless, venture on a walking tour of the St. Louis Cemetery, where the spirits of the past might just make an appearance. And, of course, for those who need a little liquid courage to handle restless spirits, the "Haunted Pub Crawl" is the way to go. Because in New Orleans, even spirits need spirits!
Places to eat & drink in New Orleans
Pressed for time but craving the full New Orleans culinary experience? Well, my hungry friend, food tours are your fast track to flavor town. Head to the French Quarter and dive into the delectable world of Creole and Cajun cuisine. I'd personally recommend the Original Flavors Food Tour or the New Orleans French Quarter Food Adventure for a taste of the city's culinary soul. But, here's a sweet twist to kickstart your day: before you embark on your foodie adventure, hop over to the Garden District for the Underground Donut & Beignet Tour. Because, let's be honest, every great day should start with a sugar rush!
If you find yourself with some leisurely hours to spare, here's a plan to savor New Orleans' culinary and nightlife delights. Start with a leisurely brunch at Messina's At the Terminal or savor a classic Po'boy at Rodosta's Restaurant. When it comes to seafood, you've got choices aplenty. Dive into deliciousness at GW Fins or Olde Nola Cookery for a seafood feast that'll make your taste buds dance. As the sun sets, it's time to embrace the vibrant nightlife. Stroll down Bourbon Street and make a pit stop at Bourbon Street Drinkery. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, venture to Famous Door, The Bulldog or Bruno's Tavern for a night filled with music, laughter and the spirit of NOLA.
