Curator’s statement

Barcelona is not only my favorite city in Spain, but is one of my favorites in the world. Heavily influenced by Gaudi's architectural style, the city itself is like an outdoor art gallery; every corner you turn there is something spectacular. This beachside city that is full of life in all 4 seasons should be on the top of your bucket list and this 3-day itinerary is here to help you see all that there is on offer.

Day 1: Arco de Triunfo. Parc de la Citudella and Sagrada Familia

Inside La Sagrada Familia, showing a central illuminated altar with high ceiling

Begin your trip to Barcelona by grabbing some breakfast and coffee at *Orval Studio* in the Sant Martí area. This hipster spot has a great menu, along with selling art books and different wines. Afterwards, stroll over to the nearby *Arco de Triunfo* (no, not the one Paris!). From there, walk along the path to *Parc de la Citudella,* a large green space in the city with lakes and monuments. Sit down and people watch or rent a pedalo and chill on the water!

Later on, head to the *Sagrada Familia*, one of the most well known cathedrals in the world. This iconic architectural project designed by Gaudi is famous for being incomplete, which adds to its story. Make sure you prebook a ticket to go inside as it can get busy. Take your time and listen to the audio guide to understand the meaning behind the masterpiece. Look up and admire the atmosphere the stained glass windows create inside.

For dinner plans, find a local tapas place near where you are staying for a relaxed evening. Tapas menus vary from place to place, so have a look around and find one that offers something different.

Day 2: Parc Güell, La Pedrera Casa Mila and Moco Museum

View of the city from the hilltop of Park Güell.

In the morning, prebook tickets and make your way to *Parc Güell* in the north of the city. This stunning hilltop park with sculptures and monuments designed by Gaudi Offers amazing views over the city. Explore all that it has to often and take in the views for a slow morning. Afterwards, head to *La Papa* for brunch. This minimalist cafe is one of the best in the city, with creative offers such as the cookie cup coffee which comprises of a cup that is edible filled with coffee! It’s also a great spot for pictures.

In the afternoon, make your way to *La Pedrera Casa Mila,* a house that was designed by Gaudi. Buy the VR experience tickets which bring the place to life. Then grab an audio set and take your time to explore this incredible building. The tour will lead you to the rooftop, which besides having a unique design itself, offers panoramic views of Barcelona, including the Sagrada Familia. After, head to the Gothic Quarter and visit the *Moco Museum,* home to various modern art pieces.

In the evening, stay in the Gothic Quarter make your way to *L’Antic Bocoi del Gòtic,* a Catalonian restaurant. This laid back place is a great place to try some local dishes and unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Day 3: Plaça d’Espanya and Montjuïc

The Spanish dish Paella at Julieta's

On your final morning, head to *Morrow Coffee,* located in the western Sant Antoni neighbourhood. This modern cafe has great pastries if you’re looking for something light, as well as a sit-down brunch menu if you’re wanting something more substantial. When finished, walk to *Plaça d’Espanya* before carrying on to *Montjuïc.* This hill has many activities to enjoy, including a cable car, a castle and an art museum.

Once you’ve finished exploring that area, head to *Barcelonata* for a late lunch at *Julieta’s.* This beachside restaurant has a menu full of Spanish dishes influenced by its location next to the sea. I would recommend getting a Paella to share. After you’ve finished up eating, take a stroll along the beach and watch the sunset.

To end the trip, head up the iconic *W Barcelona* to get some drinks while looking over the beach and the city. It is a great place to relax and reflect on all the amazing places you have been during your time in Barcelona.
