Things to do in Prague

Decorated old town square Christmas markets.

Visit the old town square Christmas markets. The decorated Christmas markets are one of the most popular attractions of Prague. You can shop for souvenirs, food and drink. You don't want to miss trying the Trdelnik, their delicious traditional dessert.

Walk along the Vlatva river. There are a number of bridges you can cross multiple times and get different views of the river and of Prague. It's also lovely seeing some of the beautiful architecture of the buildings near the river.

Take a Vlatva river cruise. A river cruise, usually two to three hours long, is a fantastic way to see the city’s landmarks from a different perspective. You’ll sail under historic bridges and catch sight of iconic landmarks like the Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge and the Rudolfinum, among other gems. Most cruises also offer lunch or dinner.

Climb the Zamecke Schody (castle stairs) for a stunning panoramic view of central Prague. At the top, you can also see the castle and the cathedral.

Explore the Prague castle. Also known as Prazsky hrad, it is one of the most visited attractions in the city. The complex includes gardens, palaces, churches and other structures. You can also witness the ceremonial Changing of the Guard every hour.

Visit The Gallery of Steel Figures. This gallery showcases steel sculptures of various figures and objects, including superheroes, animals and celebrities.

Visit the Madame Tussauds, which is part of the world-known Madame Tussauds wax museum chain. You can take pictures with your favorite icons, including celebrities, politicians, historical figures and famous personalities.
