Curator’s statement
Umbria is Tuscany’s lesser-known neighbor to the southeast. This relatively undiscovered gem is home to amazing wine, food, history and views! Whether spending the day site seeing in Assisi or lounging on a terrace overlooking the olive groves - with local wine in hand of course - a trip to Umbria is unforgettable.

Things to do in Umbria, Italy
Indulge in the Local Cuisine
Umbria is one of the few Italian regions not located on a coastline. This verdant haven is known for wine, olive groves, and truffles. Start the day hunting for truffles, then head to a local winery. End with a tour and tasting of an olive farm - my favorite is La Montagnola.
Explore medieval towns
Italy has no shortage of picturesque towns and those in Umbria are no exception. My favorites include Assisi, Torgiano and Spello. Don’t miss the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi and the Museo del Vino in Torgiano.
Hike to the Marmore Waterfalls
Pack a picnic and head to the largest manmade waterfalls in the world. These majestic falls were created by the ancient Romans over 2000 years ago.
