Things to do in Todos Santos

A street in Todos Santos

Getting to Todos Santos

I recommend flying into Los Cabos Airport (SJD) and renting a car through Sixt car rentals. Todos Santos is located north of of Cabo San Lucas, about an hour and 20 minute drive from the airport. The drive through the cactus lined, desert mountains is totally worth it, and at the other side awaits a foodie's paradise.

Art

Downtown Todos Santos is blanketed with countless art galleries, pottery shops, and artisan goods. Be sure to check out Galeria Logan for reasonably priced original prints that capture the essence of Baja culture.

Fishing Charter

From sea to plate, a fishing charter is a great option for foodies looking for the ultimate dining experience. I recommend Punta Lobos Fishing Charters, who can recommend restaurants that would be thrilled to cook your catch. If fishing isn't quite your jam, you can also inquire about whale watching expeditions.

Beaches

About a 15 minute drive from Todos Santos, Cerritos beach is as loved by surfers as it is by whales. If you're hoping catch a Gray Whale breech, your optimal time to visit is November through April. No matter the time of year, this undeveloped coast line offers a perfect destination for a relaxing day in the sun (a foodie's gotta make time to rest too, right?) If you're up for adventure though, take a morning surf class — you can sign up right on the beach.

Hike to the top of Punta Lobos

Take the Sugar Port Trail that begins where the local fishing boats launch for a hike to the top of the mountain with breath taking views of crystal clear turquoise waters. Cool offs afterwards at nearby Hotel San Cristobal for apps and a drink at the pool bar.

Mezcal Tasting

Try mezcal tasting at the El Refugio Mezcaleria, a popular bar and restaurant that offers a wide variety of artisanal mezcals from different regions of Mexico.

Tacos in Mexico.

Breakfast

Baja Beans Cafe - With coffee from the roots of La Baja, this local cafe & roastery offers more than just a cup of joe. From fresh chocolate croissants, to omelets, to fruit grown right across the road. While there is no indoor seating, the shaded courtyard provides an idyllic backdrop to the best coffee in town.

Lunch

Street Tacos - A true foodie knows sometimes the best food is in the streets. Saunter down the streets of downtown Todos Santos, and you'll find street tacos on nearly every corner. Although the fish tacos at La Pacena are my personal fav, you cannot go wrong with any place you choose (be sure you have pesos on hand!).

Tequila's Sunrise Bar & Grill - If you're looking for a place to grab lunch with margs, Tequila's Sunrise Bar & Grill is your spot. Afterwards you can trek across the street to visit the historic Hotel California.

Dinner

The Green Room B.C.S - Nestled quite literally on the beach, somehow The Green Room has managed to curate flavors that exceed their unparalleled views. The Rosarito Beach Rolls are a must try appetizer for foodies, and the mezcal margaritas are unmatched. At dusk, each table is gently lent with green lanterns — a total vibe.

Dum Todos Santos - This off-the-beaten-path restaurant and event space combines an elevated Tulum atmosphere with Mediterranean cuisine. Nestled in the forest, nights at Dum include live music, crackling fire pits, and dimly lit lanterns painting the forest trails. Arrive mid-day and grab a day pass to the pool (yes, they even have a pool!)

Barracuda Cantina - My personal fav; this beach bar offering tacos and craft cocktails is planted in the heart of Cerritos beach — just a 15 minute drive from Todos Santos. The team at Barracuda are as kind as they are skilled in offering a menu that is sure to satisfy everyone you bring.
