Things to do in Aruba
You can travel by sea or air to get to the Island of Aruba. If by air, you will fly into the Queen Beatrix International Airport, located in Oranjestad. Most major airlines fly to the Island of Aruba, with some being direct from major international cities.
Visiting Aruba, you will find the architecture to be of Dutch influence, as it is under the control of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The currency of Aruba is the Aruban Florin, however you will find that the US Dollar is widely accepted throughout the island.
Ready to head out to explore Aruba? I always find visiting churches to be a great experience. Not from a religious perspective, but from a historical one to learn about how early settlers and locals worship. You will find several in the downtown Oranjestad area, however, if you are able to explore further, check out the Alto Vista Chapel. It's located on the northwest side of the island.
Looking to explore other popular destinations, head over to the California Lighthouse Aruba. They provide walking tours, sightseeing and a great place to grab some photo ops! Before heading over, make sure you have plenty of time as they do have operating hours.
Bushiribana Ruins is another interesting Aruban stop to visit. Located again on the north side of the island, the ruins date back to 1872 and was built by the Aruba Island Gold-Mining Company. There is not fee to visit the ruins.
Maybe you are just wanting a relaxing day on the beach then head over to Baby Beach. You will find beautiful turquoise waters, shallow waters great for snorkeling to see the corals that are in shallow waters.
Day Trips
If you are only visiting the island for the day, I would recommend choosing one of the tour operators that offer tours of the city with food and beverages as part of the tour. Allows for you to interact with the locals and learn about different cultures and foods.
