Things to do in Greece
Santorini
Sanorini doesn’t disappoint with its breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and its intricate white and blue architecture perched on a hill.
A hike through the cliffs from Fira to Oia has breathtaking views. (The roughly six-mile hike can take anywhere from three to five hours with easy to intermediate terrain.)
When you’re back into town, pop into the Atlantis bookstore which features first editions, secret coves and a terrace overlooking the sea, making this bookstore a must-see. Make sure to stop by the Akrotiri Museum as you explore to learn about the ancient history of the island.
Ready for the seaside? Lounge on the black sand beaches and enjoy. And make sure to ride the donkeys up the hill from Amoudi bay after you eat fresh-caught squid.
Finally, a sunset boat tour around the caldera ending in Oia is a lovely way to end the day. Ask me how to book these fantastic excursions!
Paros & Antiparos
These two islands that form the cycloptic circle of the Aegean islands are incredibly charming. They get significantly less tourists than Santorini, and offer tranquil and relaxing island vibes. When you first arrive, rent buggies to explore the many beaches. While you’re at it, you can also stop by wine and olive oil tastings in the area.
Take the walking trail to Lefkes through ancient marble that date back to 1000 A.D. for your history fix.
Traveling with a family? A visit to the Butterflies Nature Reserve, open during the summer months, is a great chance for the whole family to experience the phenomenon.
Athens
Greece’s capital is the cosmopolitan center of the country, and one filled with so much ancient history. If you’re a big Greek mythology fan, there are specific tours you can book where you will follow in the footsteps of your favorite Greek mythology character to truly get a feel of the way Athens was centuries ago. A private tour of the Acropolis and the museum will further help with that. To end off the day, watch the sunset behind the Acropolis from a rooftop terrace bar nearby, such as M. Bar mentioned below.

Need to know
The Greek islands are typically open from May through September with warm weather and plenty of tourists. I recommend visiting in September if you are looking for a quieter experience with better prices. The islands are largely closed during the off seasons.
