Curator’s statement

Visiting Paris for the first time with one of my lifelong friends was an unforgettable, magical experience. From strolling along the Seine to watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night, I fell in love with the city's beauty and charm almost instantly. The delicious food, rich history and cozy small-town feeling have me longing to return.

Where to stay in Paris

Things to do in Paris

  • See the Eiffel Tower — I recommend going at night to be able to watch the tower sparkle at the top of the hour for five minutes. Take in incredible views by riding the elevator to the very top. (Be sure to bring a jacket as it is much windier at the top than it is in the city)

  • Seine river cruise — A recommendation for the beginning of your trip to help you get a lay of the land and take note of spots you want to explore more! For a more romantic experience, opt for a sunset or evening cruise.

  • Stroll along the Seine in the 4ème arrondissement and peruse the outdoor stands to find vintage goods and trinkets.

  • Visit Shakespeare and Co Bookstore — A popular spot for writers and book lovers alike.

  • Musée du Louvre — A must-see in Paris. Pro tip: buy your tickets ahead of time online and enter through the Carrousel entrance inside the mall for practically no wait time.

  • Shop! Shop! Shop! — Stroll along the Champs-Elysees and the streets in the 1st arrondissement near the Louvre for luxury shopping.

  • Château de Versailles — A museum of the history of France with beautiful gardens and grounds.

  • Visit the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre — Rumored to have the most beautiful streets in Paris, a great photo op.

Places to eat & drink in Paris

Breakfast:

  • Paul Bakery: A French classic since 1889, their pain au chocolat is the best I’ve ever had. There are many cafe locations throughout the city.

  • Cafe Gustave: The perfect spot near the Eiffel Tower for a hot cappuccino and delicious crepes.

  • Le Cafe Carrousel: A beautiful, bustling terrace across from the Jardin des Tuileries.

Lunch:

  • Le Bonaparte: A quintessential Parisian bistro serving authentic French dishes. Insider tip: Order the Mozzarella Stracciatella it is to die for!

Dinner:

  • La Vie en Rose: A must-dine in Paris! Enjoy views of the Eiffel Tower sparkling while dining on the terrace.

  • Cafe Roma: A casual fare on the Champs-Elysees serving delicious pizza, fresh bread and great Aperol Spritz.

  • L’Italien: A cozy spot in the 8eme arrondissement, perfect for a glass of wine and authentic pasta.

Drinks

  • Bar Hemingway: Inside the Ritz Hotel, this bar offers a luxurious yet cozy and classic feel. The perfect place to end your day of exploring, shopping and eating.
