Day 1: Arrive in Monterey

Old Fisherman's Wharf: No matter what time you arrive in Monterey, dropping off your luggage at your hotel and exploring the city is a must. Old Fisherman's Wharf is the perfect place to start your adventure. Enjoy a delicious bowl of fresh clam chowder for lunch, shop for souvenirs, check out whale watching times or simply stroll around and spot some sea lions or sea otters.

Cannery Row: Less than a mile away from Old Fisherman's Wharf lies Cannery Row, a historic destination that's definitely worth a visit. You can either take a leisurely walk along the ocean or a five-minute drive up the road to get there. Cannery Row offers a variety of attractions, including the aquarium, Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory and Ghirardelli. Take a stroll along the ocean, shop, indulge in some ice cream and enjoy the refreshing ocean breeze. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax.

Tide pools: As the evening sets in and the tide goes out, exploring the tide pools is an unforgettable experience. Drive along Ocean View Blvd and stop anywhere along the beach to witness the fascinating sea life. It's a great way to spend an evening and get up-close and personal with nature.

Day 2: First full day in Monterey

The Monterey Bay Aquarium: The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a must-visit destination in Monterey, and you can spend as much time as you want exploring its wonders. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple or with family, the aquarium offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of sea life. From jellyfish and sea otters to sharks and birds, there's so much to see. You even interact with starfish, pet stingrays, and hold hermit crabs.

Adventures by the Sea: If you find yourself with some extra time after visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium or simply want to take a break, head over to Adventures by the Sea on Cannery Row. Here, you can rent a kayak, bike, surrey bike (four-person bike) or an e-bike to explore even more of Monterey. It's a great way to get some exercise and take in the beautiful sights!

Beach House at Lover's Point: After a long day of exploring Monterey, satisfy your hunger at Beach House at Lover's Point. This restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes, including fresh calamari, lobster ravioli, traditional fish n' chips and prime rib. It's the perfect to unwind and enjoy a meal with a stunning view of the ocean.

Revival Ice Cream: Indulge in a fresh waffle cone with your favorite ice cream flavor and satisfy your sweet tooth. It's perfect way to end your day in Monterey!

Day 3: Explore Carmel and Pebble Beach

17-mile drive: Enter the 17-mile drive at the Pacific Grove Gate and follow the scenic road along the beach. Stop at each point of interest to take pictures, visit golf pro shops and end your journey at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Walk down to the 18th hole, watch golfers on the green and don't forget to check out the Pebble Beach Pro Shop.

Carmel Beach: After completing the 17-mile drive, head to Carmel Beach by taking a quick drive from the Carmel Gate. Park your car and take a leisure stroll along the stunning beach, which is located right below Pebble Beach Golf Links. Keep your eyes peeled and you might find a golf ball on the beach!

Carmel: While in Carmel, be sure to explore the local restaurants and shops in Downtown Carmel. You'll find a variety of unique and charming establishments that are worth checking out. Fun fact - Carmel is known as one of the most dog-friendly towns in America, so feel free to bring your furry friend along for the adventure!

Dennis the Menace Playground: If you're traveling with little ones, be sure to visit Dennis the Menace Playground. This playground is a fun and exciting destination for kids of all ages. With a variety of play structures and activities, your little ones will have a blast.

El Estero Boating: If you don't want to go on the ocean, rent a paddle boat and take in the sights and sounds of Monterey Bay while enjoying a relaxing activity.

Point Pinos Lighthouse: Visit the oldest operating lighthouse on the west coast in Pacific Grove, California!

Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary: See hundreds to thousands of Monarch Butterflies in Pacific Grove during their peak migrating season from November to January!
