Day 1: Underground pool and sauna & special tasting menu

Food for wine pairing at Auberge Nicolas Flamel.

You’re likely to arrive in Paris mid-day if you are traveling from a different city. Check in to your hotel and if you stay at Hotel Le Ballu like we did, first reserve an hour in their unique underground pool and sauna, grab lunch in their garden restaurant and then head down to the pool. After your relaxation hour, get ready to go out for the evening.

I recommend reserving a table at Auberge Nicolas Flamel. It’s a small Parisian restaurant in a house built in 1407 with a ton of history. The restaurant offers three different tasting menus with wine pairing options. It is in the Le Marais neighborhood so you could stop at one of the many bars in the area before or after dinner. Sinner Paris is a unique hotel with a bar where you can have a cocktail before dinner.

After dinner, go for a leisurely walk, if you are one that is up for exploring. Paris is beautiful at night, start by walking around 20 minutes to go by Notre Dame, then along the Seine River down to the Louvre. From there you will be able to see the Eiffel Tower at night and if you are lucky, you will see it sparkle. The Louvre has some beautiful gardens nearby and you may even hear musicians singing with the amazing acoustics of the museum.

Day 2: Montmartre, tuktuk & boat tour

Tuktuk tour by the Emily in Paris front door & restaurant.

Morning: From the hotel, take a taxi to the Montmartre area. I suggest breakfast at La Casquette. This is a quaint family-owned restaurant serving home cooked food in a laid-back atmosphere. From here, explore your way up to Montmartre and see the Sacre Coeur. You can take the short Funiculare de Monmarte either to go up or down from the Sacre Coeur. Below the Sacre Coeur, there are many unique shops and a park, you can explore here and then make your way to Place du Tertre to see the artists. Stop for a macaroon when you have the chance!

Lunch: Make a reservation in advance at Pink Mamma Paris, a beautiful multifloored Italian restaurant in the 9th Pigalle. After lunch, you can head back to the hotel to get cleaned up or move on to the next activity.

Afternoon: Private tuktuk tour. This is an easy way to see the many sites of Paris when you are on a super short itinerary. This private two-hour tour can accommodate up to six guests in an electric tuktuk. The driver will make sure you get the best overview of Paris.

Evening: Boat tour on the Seine. To end your day, take a one-hour relaxing Seine River guided cruise to see Paris from the river.

Dinner: Monbleu with three locations throughout Paris, you can’t leave Paris without a trip to a Fromagerie. Here you can try incredible cheese and meat accompanied by a tasty wine.

Need to know

This short and sweet itinerary really gives you an overview of Paris in what seems like an impossibly short amount of time. If you make your days long but enjoy the journey, you will have the best time.

I would like to mention that my husband and I completed this very busy two-day itinerary when I was in a walking boot with crutches and a knee scooter. I am a very active person and choose to scoot around Paris, accepting the weird looks and just leaning into enjoying the scenery. We took the tuktuk tour because it was accessible for me, and helpful to be able to see a larger range of Paris without having to walk. I would not recommend this itinerary for someone with very restricted mobility, but I am here to say that an injury does not have to completely ruin your trip!
