Curator’s statement

Verbier holds a special place in my heart. Growing up skiing here with my parents, professional ski instructors and guides, I've come to know and love every part of it. Despite its transformation over the years, Verbier's core charm remains. Each season brings its magic, but I especially recommend visiting in winter or summer to fully enjoy the wide range of activities and avoid off-season construction work. If you're here just for nature, any time is perfect.

  • Clambin: Ideal for summer and winter walks. Follow the signs past W Hotel to Clambin, where you'll find a bench overlooking the scenery. Running water is available in summer.

  • Hattay: A 20–30-minute walk from Clambin. Great for summer picnics with shelters and picnic benches available. Reservation with the tourism office is mandatory. Running water in summer.

  • Savoleyres: Start behind the Savoleyres lift station and walk towards Chute du Bisse. Suitable for both summer and winter. Snowshoes aren’t necessary — just bring proper walking shoes. Water is available about 500 meters to 1 km past the last chalet in summer (0.31 miles to 0.62 miles.).

  • Les Esserts: In winter, find picnic benches at the top of Les Esserts. Non-skiers can take a bus up. Offers a stunning valley view and the best panoramic view of central Verbier.

  • La Chaux: For the must-have Verbier photo, visit the big Verbier sign overlooking Combin de Courbassiere (3600m) and Grand Combin (4300m) at the bottom of La Chaux. Walk from Ruinette to La Chaux in summer — popular for cross-country skiing in winter.

  • Carrefour: Take the Free Navette Buses from anywhere in town up past Medran, Brunet, Savolyere to Carrefour for the best view of Verbier and surrounding Alpine scenery. For those in good shape, the walk from Carrefour to Croix de Cœur is great.
