Places to eat & drink in Iceland

Eldur Og Is: Ice cream and crepes. They have the best made-to-order crepes and so many fun ice cream flavors. They have both sweet and savory crepes, so you can do this for a snack, or a small meal.
Sker Restaurant: convenient for Snaeffelsness tours. Our tour bus came in and these people were so ready to accommodate us efficiently even though they didn’t expect us. They had amazing crepe pizza and a lot of good, hearty lunch options — fish and chips (a common fav) was also great here.
Strondin Pub: In Vik, while on our South Iceland tour, had the best fish and chips!
Reykjavik street food: So many quick options here, it was hard for us to choose from the menu. My husband ordered fish and chips and loved it. They had a lobster soup that I loved, and I heard from locals that their seafood soup was good too. It was cozy comfort food, which was just what we needed when we went there.
Ginger Restaurant: This was my 17 year old’s favorite! Lots of soups and sandwiches. The balsamic chicken sandwich and the Greek chicken wrap were amazing.
Disclaimer: Everyone loves the famous hot dogs there, and I was not a fan! We tried them from three different places and I can’t in good faith recommend one.
Need to know
We absolutely loved doing the day tour method for all of the sites because they offer so many tips and take care of you the entire day. I have so many tips on clothing, especially for kids. We did bring waterproof bags with waterproof clothing for all of us. The drivers will warn you to put them on when exiting the bus in South Iceland. Waterfalls spray intense amounts of water and it’s almost always misty or raining on top of that.
