Curator’s statement

Annapolis, Maryland is a idillic waterfront town with great food, history and plenty of things to do that are both fun and pet-friendly. I stayed in Annapolis for 4 months and fell in love with this beautiful town and the amazing pet-friendly community.

Things to do in Annapolis, Maryland

Boats at the marina in Annapolis, Maryland

Spend some time in town and walk the streets filled with colorful row houses.

Hang out and have a picnic on the lawn of St. John’s College in the middle of town.

Go for a boat ride on a water taxi with your pup!

Hang out at one of the areas many waterfronts watching the views overlooking the Chesapeake Bay.

Shop the stores many if not all that allow your pets inside. My favorite is Details and Design - you will surely leave with something.

Hike with your pup at Greenbury Point, Quiet Waters and Quiet Waters Dog Beach, Bobwhite Park, Truxton Park and many more.

Under The Stars is a summer long weekly event where streets are closed off and restaurants pull their tables outside. There is live music and dancing and games like ping pong and corn hole are played until wee hours of the night. Best of all: dogs are welcome.

Bay Drive is beautiful block aligning the water with beautiful homes. I like to park my car and walk the area with my pup to get the most magical view of the Bay Bridge.

Day Trips

There are several other places to explore in the region including: St. Michael’s, Easton and Oxford in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia.

Places to eat & drink in Annapolis, Maryland

Blue sign reads "bar and grill" with open windows

Boatyard Grill: My Friday favorite!

David Pub: Where the locals hang out.

Pusser’s Caribbean Grill: Right on the water, fun party vibe.

Stan and Jo’s Saloon: Tavern with tvs and great bar food and live music.

Forward Brewing: This awesome little brewery is so friendly to animals and people alike.

Annapolis Creamery: So many great choices here.

Leeward Market: Outdoor seating with casual deli/ cafe vibe.

O’Leary’s Seafood: The one with the very cool teal painted building with the nicest husband and wife owners.

Black Wall Hitch and Luna Blu: Great Italian with outdoor seating.

One of the best parts of Annapolis is that if there is an outdoor space, pretty much all of the restaurants here allow pups to join!
