Day 1: Arrive in Denver and explore

Start your Denver adventure in the heart of LoDo, where the city’s historic charm meets modern vibrancy. For brunch, head to Mercantile Dining & Provision, a must-visit for locally sourced ingredients and a menu that never disappoints. Afterward, stop by Love Weld for a unique experience — get a custom permanent jewelry piece that’s a fun and lasting souvenir. Take some time to explore the Dairy Block, a hidden gem filled with boutiques, art galleries and murals that capture Denver’s creative energy.

For dinner, I recommend Tavernetta, an upscale Italian restaurant that perfectly blends classic flavors with modern twists. Don’t forget to end the evening at Reynard Social, a cozy and stylish bar known for its expertly crafted cocktails, making it the perfect spot for a post-dinner drink.

Insider tip: If you’re a fan of craft cocktails, ask the bartender for the daily special — it’s often a hidden gem only known to locals.

Day 2: Five Points and RiNo

Day two takes you through Five Points and RiNo, two of Denver’s most vibrant neighborhoods with a unique mix of culture, art and craft beer. Start your day with brunch at Mimosas, where you can indulge in delicious breakfast dishes and, of course, their namesake mimosas. From there, dive into Denver's thriving brewery scene with a brewery hop through some of the city's best spots. Ratio Beerworks is perfect for craft beer lovers with a laid-back vibe, while ODell Brewing offers unique and flavorful brews. Head over to Stem Ciders for a refreshing cider or two.

Insider tip: When hopping between breweries, take a walk through RiNo’s street art district. You’ll find incredible murals that make for great photo ops and showcase Denver’s artistic spirit. Then unwind at Oakwell Beer Spa, where you can soak in a beer bath while sipping your favorite brew.

For dinner, Work & Class offers a bold menu with Latin-inspired flavors and a welcoming, casual atmosphere. The food is exceptional, making it a local favorite. End the night at Death & Company, a high-end cocktail bar with a sophisticated, speakeasy feel. The ambiance is perfect for a nightcap, and the cocktails are second to none.

Day 3: Highlands and LoHi neighborhoods

Day three brings you to the trendy Highlands and LoHi neighborhoods, where you'll find a perfect mix of laid-back vibes and urban charm. Start your day with a cozy breakfast at The Fox & Hen, a local favorite for delicious pastries, eggs and more. Then, get hands-on with a fun and creative experience at The Weathered Wick, where you can craft your own candle to take home as a unique souvenir. Afterward, stroll over to Platte Street, where you’ll find both urban adventures and scenic views.

Insider tip: Make sure to visit Platte Street’s boutique stores. There are some hidden gems offering vintage clothing, handmade goods and unique home decor you won’t find elsewhere in the city.

Visit REI for all your outdoor gear needs, or simply to explore its huge, interactive space. For lunch or a refreshing drink, stop by Denver Beer Co, a relaxed spot with a great selection of local brews. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Linger, where the eclectic menu and cool rooftop views make it a go-to for locals. Afterward, satisfy your sweet tooth with a scoop from Little Man Ice Cream, another Denver classic. Wrap up the day at the speakeasy-style Williams & Graham, where you can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails in an intimate, stylish setting.

Day 4: Last day

Denver is known for its active lifestyle, with residents embracing outdoor fitness and dog-friendly culture. To experience both like a local, head to Wash Park for a scenic walk, jog or bike ride. Here you'll find plenty of pups and locals gathering to exercise and relax. Then, choose between the Denver Botanic Gardens — a peaceful escape with stunning gardens and art — or the Denver Zoo, a favorite for animal lovers of all ages. Afterward, take your time strolling through the Cherry Creek shops, a mix of high-end boutiques and local stores, perfect for finding that special something.

In the evening, catch a show or ballet at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. This is a cultural hub offering incredible performances throughout the year. For dinner, indulge in a culinary experience at one of Denver's Michelin-starred restaurants. Whether you choose Alma Fonda Fina, Wolf’s Tailor, Bruto, Guard & Grace or Ash’Kara, you’ll find a dining experience that’s nothing short of extraordinary.

Need to know

How do you know if someone is a local or not? If they recommend going to the 16th Street Mall, don't trust a word they say. I made this mistake when I first moved to Denver, when I trusted a guidebook. (Yes, it was that long ago that I moved here!) Despite its recent "revitalization" and a few gems on the outskirts, the 16th Street Mall is filled with kitschy tourist traps, chain restaurants, and can feel unsafe after dark.
