Curator’s statement
Growing up in South Carolina, Charlotte was always a place my family and friends would escape to for a bit of big-city excitement. We’d visit for the fantastic shopping, incredible dining and just the overall buzz that Charlotte exudes. Later, I found myself traveling there often for work and truly grew to love how this city manages to feel both vibrant and welcoming. It’s clean, it’s lively and its food scene rivals much larger metropolitan areas — plus, the people are some of the friendliest you’ll meet. What I love most about Charlotte is how it has something for everyone. You can explore fascinating cultural attractions, indulge in Southern-style comfort food (or some of the best fine dining). You can also get outdoors and enjoy the nearby mountains and lakes. Whether you’re traveling with family, heading off for a romantic weekend or just looking for a solo getaway, Charlotte makes it easy to find your vibe. And with so many new spots constantly popping up, it’s one of those cities that keeps you coming back for more.
