Boulevard park in Sacramento
Fora’s Take

Sacramento is the perfect combination of big city and small town. Previously known as the City of Trees, Sacramento never falls short of beautiful nature spots and incredible food. And if you're a basketball fan, the Sacramento Kings have been making Sacramento proud lately and there's plenty of swag and potential games to go to too.

Day 1

DOCO is where the locals hang out and visitors from around the globe experience this region at its finest.

Sacramento, home of the Sacramento Kings, surprised so many people when they made it to the NBA Playoffs of 2022. Since then, the new DoCo center has shown out and given Sacramento a tourist destination but also an area where locals can support their team and be proud of their city. In the DoCo center, there are so many different options to choose from: from Its Sugar candy store to Toms Watch Bar right outside the Golden One Center. You definitely won't want to miss the DoCo center when you're in Sactown.

Day 2

Old Sacramento is the riverfront historic neighborhood district.

Another must-see in Sacramento is the historic Old Town. Right on the water, this walkable town has many shops and restaurants to pick from. One highlight you'll need to check out is Candy Heaven (keep an eye out for the creepy clowns on the top floor). Arguably, Candy Heaven has the best saltwater taffy you'll ever have. Another spot in Old Sac, is a vintage-style costume store called Evangelines. This store has three stories, so of course it has everything you could think of. They don't just have costumes too - for any fan of Harry Potter, Bobs Burgers, Doctor Who or any other classic, you'll be able to find your merch here.

Day 3

The Tower Theatre, built in 1938, is a Sacramento, California landmark.

Sacramento has limitless options when it comes to spectacular food. A notable mention is Tres Hermanas. If you're a fan of Margaritas and incredible tamales, this is the spot for you. Another, rather historic spot you need to check out is the infamous Tower Theater and Restaurant. This is the perfect spot if you're looking to catch some dinner and an indie movie (as seen in the movie Lady Bird).

Need to know

No matter what you do while you're visiting Sacramento, you'll never be bored or hungry. If you're looking for a trip to a big city but don't want to be overly crowded by other people, Sacramento is the town for you.
