Curator’s statement
I had never been to Seattle prior to meeting my husband, who was born and raised in northern WA; but I instantly fell in love with the area. I visited the PNW for the first time in the summer of 2019. The PNW offers so many things to do, with its vast landscape mixed with the bustling downtown of a major city. You can spend your day hiking and soaking in the beautiful views, and end your evening with a ball game at T Mobile Park cheering on the Mariners.

Things to do in Seattle
Pike Place Market
This market is such a staple in Seattle! You'll find the famous fish tossing, hidden wineries/bars, souvenirs from local artists and so much more.
The Seattle Great Wheel
A fun, unique way to take in the views of the Puget Sound. Each couple/family has their own private fully-enclosed gondola. Suitable all year round!
Space Needle
One of Seattle's most iconic buildings. Whether you're just looking for amazing views, experiencing their unique glass floor or you're interested in grabbing dinner and drinks, the Space Needle has something for everyone.
Sky View Observatory
Another alternative to the 360 views you'll find at the Space Needle. And fun fact, this observatory actually sits higher than the Space Needle!
T-Mobile Park & Lumen Field
Home of the Seattle Mariners & Seahawks. If you are a sports fan like myself, I highly recommend squeezing in a game (or two!) while you're in the city. They are adjacent to one another, making it easy to do both in one trip, if you're lucky enough to catch them in town at the same time.
Discovery Park
You'll find several hikes and trails within the 534-acre park, suitable for all ages. The northern part of the park sits along the Puget Sound, which makes for a great place to stop and have a little picnic, or just sit and soak in the view.
Olympic National Park
If hiking is your thing, you won't want to miss the opportunity to explore Olympic National Park. With the ocean on the West side, and the mountains on the East side, this national park has the best of both views.
Day trip
If you have an extra day in your trip, I highly recommend taking the ferry over to Bainbridge Island. The views from the ferry are spectacular, and the town itself is very charming.
Places to eat & drink in Seattle
BREAKFAST/BRUNCH
Portage Bay Cafe: With locations in South Lake Union, Ballard, Capitol Hill, Fremont and downtown Seattle, you won't be too far from one. They use locally sourced organic ingredients to create their delicious breakfast and lunch menu. I love getting a great meal that also supports local businesses in several aspects.
Tilikum Place Cafe: An old-school feel serving up the classic Dutch Baby. Think of it like a hybrid of a crepe, pancake and popover - so delicious! This place is small, so make sure to book a reservation.
MID-DAY BITE
Pike Place Chowder: You can't leave Seattle without trying Pike Place Chowder! The New England Clam Chowder is a classic that you can't miss, and I also loved the Seafood Bisque. Both in a bread bowl, of course!
DINNER
2120: Voted one of Seattle's best restaurants! Check out their seasonal menu with ingredients from local farmers. The presentation of their menu is beautiful, and the quality is even better. If the carrot cake is on the dessert menu, do yourself a favor and get it!
Daniel’s Broiler: If you're looking for a nice place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or just the weekend - look no further. Some of the best steak I've ever had! Personal recommendation - the filet mignon with their signature Oscar Style. Locations in Downtown, South Lake Union, Leschi and Bellevue.
DRINKS
Starbucks Reserve Roastery: Seattle is home to 1 of the 6 Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in the world. It’s a unique experience for coffee and tea lovers alike.
Deep Dive: After you’ve finished dinner at 2120, head over to this speakeasy hidden within the Amazon Spheres. The design was inspired by marquee hotel bars around the world. Each drink has been carefully curated, with seasonal ingredients in mind. Tip: make a reservation! Even on a week day evening, this place fills up.
Canon: If you are looking for unique drinks, this is the place. Not only do they have America’s largest spirit collection (4000+!), but they offer bespoke drink presentations you won’t want to miss!
