Curator’s statement

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in St. Barths in 2023 and are heading back this year in 2024 for our one-year wedding anniversary. St. Barth's is truly unlike anywhere else in the world... think upscale European meets white sandy beaches. The food is unmatched, the shopping is superb, the hospitality is spectacular. If you are a foodie looking for a five-star vacation that can be both relaxing and action-packed, look no further than St. Barths.

Things to do in St. Barths

  • Rent a convertible and drive around the island - you can drive around the island of St. Barths in one hour. It's a great way to get to know the Island and beach hop.

  • Lunch at Shellona, the Sand Bar at Eden Roc or Hotel Le Toiny beach club and rent a day bed to explore a new beach at any of these locations.

  • Go snorkeling at the blue lagoon.

  • Eat your way through St. Barths.

  • Hire a tour guide to hike the island and explore natural hot springs.

  • Hit one of the many beach clubs in St. Barths during the day (such as Eden Rock's Sand Bar, or La Guérite).

  • Hit the town and shop at your favorite designer stores and some local favorites like Pop St. Barth, stop for a bite of roman style pizza at L'isoletta.

  • Some of the best food in the world is in St. Barths. I highly recommend eating out at a new restaurant each night and embracing your foodie side.

  • Treat yourself to spa treatments and relax by the pool at your hotel property.

Where to Eat

  • L'Isola - My favorite restaurant on the island and some of if not the all-time best Italian food I have ever had (yes, even better than Italy). White tablecloth, fine dining. We spotted Bono from U2 having dinner here.

  • Le Tamarin - Outdoor jungle steakhouse vibe with incredible cocktails. This is a picture perfect spot for dinner. The wagyu steak was amazing. I would highly recommend at least going here for cocktails as they have a separate cocktail lounge area.

  • Le Petite Plage - I have only been here for dinner but this place is typically a day party in the day also. Amazing ambiance and upscale food. They only have two dinner seatings so if you want to stay on through a DJ and watch the restaurant convert into more of a club scene, opt for the later seating.

  • Bonito - Same owners as Tamarind and one of the most popular restaurants on the island. Excellent French Pan-American cuisine and ambiance.

  • Sella - A newer gem in St. Barths and already a huge hit on the island offering Israeli cuisine on the waterfront.

  • The Sand Bar (at Eden Roc) - Incredible spot for lunch. I highly recommend the ahi tuna. Cocktails are excellent, beautiful ocean front views. If you aren't a guest at the hotel, you can pay for a lounge chair for the day and eat lunch here.

  • Shellona - my favorite lunch spot offering greek food and delicious cocktails beach front. I strongly recommend making lunch reservations as this is a popular day spot. You may also opt to rent a day bed.

  • L'isoletta - If you are in town and looking for lunch, this roman style pizzeria connected to and owned by the same owners of La Isola is not to be missed.

  • Le Toiny Restaurant - Both the beach club for lunch and their main restaurant for dinner are exceptional. Even if you aren't staying on property, it is worthy of a visit.

Need to know

I would not suggest visiting St. Barths without booking a rental car as taxis and cabs are hard to get and insanely expensive. I suggest having the car dropped off and picked up at your hotel so it is hassle free, the hotels are used to this and will help coordinate.
