Advisor - Husband: “What Do You Want for Your Birthday” Me: “Weekend in NYC”
Curator’s statement

NYC is my absolute favorite place for a weekend getaway. A full day of sightseeing and shopping paired with a Broadway show and Italian dinner is the perfect date night. After multiple visits here, I've found that a two-night stay is the sweet spot.

Things to do in New York City

This varies so much depending on how many visits you've had in the big city. With that said:

  • Central Park: I could spend every day strolling around here. It's magical. For first-time visitors, I suggest a pedicab ride with GoHybrid to hit all the major spots.

  • Empire State Building: Highly suggest sunset to watch the city light up at night.

  • Walk the Brooklyn Bridge: Sunrise is amazing here before all the traffic or the perfect stroll after dinner.

  • Broadway show: No trip to NYC is complete without going to the theater. Hamilton, Lion King and Wicked are all phenomenal.

  • Peloton: If you're a Peloton fan, I highly suggest doing a live ride in the studio. It's such a neat experience.

  • High Tea at The Plaza Hotel. Dress your best!

  • Walk the High Line: A great place for a stroll with the art changing ever so often.

  • Shopping: The best shopping spots there are — you can get as much luxury as you want here! Stroll the shops on 5th Avenue.

Places to eat & drink in New York City

  • Carbone: The spicy rigatoni and their espresso martini are to die for here!

  • Becco: A great Italian dinner before/after a Broadway show. Very reasonably priced!

  • The Polo Bar: Reservations are not easy to get here, but the food is incredible and it's such a vibe. Eli Manning dined with his family next to us while eating dinner here. (Get the burger and the steak tartare!)

  • Beauty & Essex: A sexy spot for a date night with great eats.

  • Tavern On The Green: Brunch here is incredible or just stop in for a cocktail after a stroll through Central Park.

  • Tao: Such a cool & trendy spot. You have to try the fortune cookie for dessert here!

  • The River Cafe: Fancy date night with stunning views!

  • Gallaghers: Awesome steak dinner.

  • Ralph's on Madison: Super cute spot for coffee and some Ralph Lauren merchandise.

  • Katz Deli: iconic deli meat spot. Don't let the line deter you — it moves quickly.

  • Mama's Too: Omg, the pizza here! So good!

Need to know

Whether you just like to walk and sightsee and see where the day brings you, or you want to do all the things and have every minute of your day planned, NYC truly has something for everyone. It's an incredible place, with incredible people from all walks of life, incredible food and incredible views.
