Things to do in Barcelona

Marvel at the Sagrada Familia
You can’t visit Barcelona without standing in awe at La Sagrada Familia, Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece. Its intricate spires and colorful stained-glass windows make it one of the most breathtaking sights in the world. Pro tip: Book your tickets in advance — this place gets busy!
Step into a fairytale at Casa Batlló
Another Gaudí gem, Casa Batlló looks like it came straight out of a dream, with its wavy façade and shimmering tiles. Inside, the design is just as surreal — think curved walls, light-filled courtyards and details inspired by nature. It’s a must-see for architecture lovers!
Wander through Park Güell
For a dose of whimsy, head to Park Güell, a colorful, mosaic-filled park with some of the best views of the city. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a fantasy world with its dragon sculptures, twisting pathways and vibrant tile work. Don’t forget your camera!
Culture and views at Montjuïc
Barcelona is packed with art and history, and some of the best museums are on Montjuïc Hill. From the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) to the Fundació Joan Miró, you can spend hours soaking in masterpieces. Bonus? The views from up here are spectacular.
Get lost in the Gothic Quarter
One of the best ways to experience Barcelona is to just wander — and the Barrio Gótico (Gothic Quarter) is the perfect place to do it. Its winding medieval streets are packed with charming cafes, hidden plazas and cool little shops. Get lost, find a cozy spot for tapas and soak in the history!
Cool off at the beach
Visiting in the summer? You’re in luck — Barcelona has beaches! After a long day of sightseeing, head to Barceloneta Beach for a dip in the Mediterranean, or just relax with a cocktail at a beachfront chiringuito (bar). It’s the perfect way to end the day.
Places to eat & drink in Barcelona

A trip to Barcelona isn’t complete without indulging in its incredible food. Here are some spots we absolutely loved:
Mercado de La Boqueria – A foodie paradise! Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, jamón ibérico or fresh fruit juices, this bustling market off La Rambla is a must-visit. Grab a snack and soak in the lively atmosphere.
El Xampanyet – A legendary tapas bar near the Picasso Museum, known for its cava (sparkling wine) and delicious anchovies. It’s small and gets crowded, but that’s part of the charm!
Bodega Biarritz 1881 – A cozy spot for incredible tapas with a friendly, welcoming vibe. Try their tasting menu for a little bit of everything.
Can Culleretes – One of the oldest restaurants in Barcelona, serving traditional Catalan dishes like escudella i carn d'olla (a hearty stew). Perfect for a classic meal.
Need to know
Barcelona is a city that has it all — stunning sights, incredible food and a laid-back vibe that makes you never want to leave. Whether you’re admiring Gaudí’s masterpieces, wandering ancient streets or savoring the best tapas in town, you’re in for an unforgettable trip. ¡Buen viaje!
