  • Isle of Palms & Folly Beach: If you're a beach lover, both beaches are perfect for sunbathing, water sports and nightlife at local venues. They are only a short drive from downtown, so you can get the best of both worlds.

  • Charleston's Waterfront Park: This park is filled with swing benches and gardens that offer calming views. It's perfect for photoshoots, relaxation and picnics.

  • Charleston's City Market: Been around since the beginning of time and your go-to place to purchase crafts, food and souvenirs from your local mom-and-pop shops.

  • Ravenel Bridge: This bridge attracts thousands annually for the Cooper River Bridge Run. If you're into exercise, early morning walks offer breathtaking views of Charleston Harbor before the crowds come out. Nice way to get your blood bumping before breakfast.

  • Horse Ride Carriage Tour: Knowledgeable tour guides will give your insight into Charleston's history. You will tour historic neighborhoods, mansions and old churches and pass landmarks like the Battery and Rainbow Row.

  • Charleston's Water Taxi: Offers a unique and beautiful way of navigating the Charleston Harbor and includes 4 main stops. There are a few dolphins that will pop out to say hello on your tour as well.

  • Friday Nights on King Street: This is where the city comes alive. Roads connecting to King Street nine and ten pm, and are tailored for locals and tourists to walk around and experience the culture. The Rooftop at The Vendure is perfect for sipping cocktails and enjoying panoramic views of the Charleston Harbor.

  • Charleston Music Hall: Check the schedule for live performances from concerts to comedy shows. All of your famous celebrities are likely to appear in Charleston — like J. Cole, Kevin Hart, Jason Isbell and The Avett Brothers.

  • Boone Hall: Boone Hall is a historic plantation that still has nine preserved slave cabins.

  • Fratello's Italian Tavern: For Italian lovers, their meatballs are to die for. Dim lighting makes this restaurant perfect for couples.

  • Salter Walter Cowboys: Located just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, this spot is perfect for summer dining with family and friends if you love seafood on the water. Their mixed drinks are made to perfection and will catch up to you — quick.

  • Vickery's Seafood: Another favorite, located just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston. Their fried jumbo shrimp and loaded french fries will leave you weak in the knees.

  • Nana's Seafood & Soul Food Trailer: This food truck is mobile and usually docked about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston and is worth the hike. Their food is fresh to order and a local favorite, especially the seafood salad.

  • Hanks Seafood: Located in historic downtown Charleston, this fine-dining restaurant has the best fried flounder in town.

  • Page's Okra Grill: Located just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, Page's has the best chicken and waffles and their Holy Water alcoholic drink will have the bar line wrapped on the weekends.

  • Fleet Landing: Located on the pier overlooking Charleston Harbor, this restaurant offers the best views — indoors or outdoors on the patio. Their "she-crab soup" and crabcakes are menu favorites.

  • Hall's Chophouse: Hall's will give your that luxury dining experience for any occasion, and their steaks are the juiciest.
