Beach

The perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming and sports, Fort Lauderdale's shoreline boasts gentle waves and endless family fun. Showers, restrooms and rental stations are conveniently located every few blocks along the seven miles of pristine beach, so you can focus on enjoying your day at the beach without any hassles. Just steps from the beach, the Promenade offers a blend of indoor and outdoor dining options, making it easy to grab a bite after a day of sunbathing and ample shopping with views of the ocean that are to die for. The Promenade hosts lively concerts, seasonal festivals and unique art popups throughout the year, ensuring there's always something exciting to experience.

Funky Buddha Brewery

The taproom, located just north of Fort Lauderdale and loved by locals and tourists alike, serves the perfect sampling of beers for everyone (21 and older), including their Maple Bacon Coffee Porter and Floridian Hefeweizen. The onsite kitchen pairs elevated pub fare with its many beer offerings to guests at communal tables, bar seats and outdoor patio tables. Recognized as one of the top craft breweries in Florida, it's a must-visit for beer enthusiasts.

Water taxi rides

Whether new to South Florida or a veteran traveler, the Water Taxi is a scenic way to enjoy the canals and waterways that make South Florida so unique. Operating like a hop-on, hop-off bus, the boat ride allows passengers to explore popular attractions at their own pace, including shopping, restaurants and beaches for one price while also viewing the luxury yachts and mansions on the waters of the New River, Intracoastal Waterway and surrounding neighborhoods. Spend as much time as you would like at your stop and catch the next taxi when ready to move on.

International Swimming Hall of Fame

Just a block from the Promenade and beach and overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway is the International Swimming Hall of Fame, a renowned institution dedicated to historical achievements and the preservation of aquatic sports. It is a fascinating stop in South Florida, full of exhibitions, collections of medals, trophies and memorabilia, as well as historical artifacts from swimming, diving and other water sports. Home to exhibits on Olympic legends like Michael Phelps, it draws fans and enthusiasts from around the world. The complex offers educational programs, swim meets and diving competitions in its array of pools. If visiting in December and January, college swim programs visit for off-season training where student swimmers and divers practice their crafts, which can be seen both inside the aquatic center and from neighboring restaurants and hotels.
