Day 1: Arrive in Lima

Visit local textile workshops to see how the famous Andean textiles are made and enjoy the surrounding views of the valley and mountains.

Next, head to Yucay, a peaceful village surrounded by stunning scenery. Take time to explore the village, enjoy a leisurely stroll through its cobblestone streets and admire the agricultural terraces that still play a role in the local way of life.

In the afternoon, visit the Moray terraces. An intriguing Incan archaeological site with concentric circular terraces believed to have been used for agricultural experimentation. The site is a stunning example of Inca ingenuity. Afterward, head to the Maras Salt Mines, where local families still use traditional methods to extract salt from the mineral-rich springs. Walk along the labyrinth of salt ponds and marvel at the unique landscape.

Return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley for the evening. End your day with a gourmet dinner, enjoying the peaceful ambiance and picturesque surroundings.

Day 5: Rainbow Mountain and Vinicunca

After an early breakfast, embark on an unforgettable day trip to the Rainbow Mountain, or Vinicunca, one of Peru's most remarkable natural wonders. This striking mountain range, with its vibrant hues of red, pink, purple and green, is a true spectacle and a must-see for adventure and nature lovers.

The journey to Vinicunca begins with a scenic drive through the Andean highlands, passing traditional Andean villages and grazing llamas and alpacas along the way. The drive offers stunning views of the mountains and valleys, and a chance to experience the remote beauty of the Peruvian countryside.

Upon arrival, begin your ascent to the mountain's summit. The trek to the viewpoint is around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace, and the altitude can be challenging. However, local guides will accompany you and provide support as you make your way to the top. Once there, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the vibrant, multi-colored mountain range.

Once at the summit, take time to marvel at the incredible natural beauty of the 7 Color Mountain and its surrounding landscape. The unique mineral deposits in the soil create the mountain's colorful stripes, making it a truly magical sight.

After your hike, enjoy a well-deserved lunch in a nearby restaurant offering traditional Andean dishes. Then, begin the descent and return to your vehicle for the journey back to the Sacred Valley or Cusco.

Arrive back in the late afternoon or early evening, where you can relax and unwind at your hotel.

Day 6: Scenic train ride from the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes

After a relaxing breakfast, set off on a scenic train ride from the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu. The train ride offers spectacular views of the lush valley and winding rivers, with lush greenery surrounding the tracks as you ascend to the cloud forests.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, check into your hotel. Later, enjoy a laid-back dinner at your hotel, sampling more of Peru's incredible cuisine, or venture into town for a gourmet meal at a local restaurant. Prepare for an exciting day tomorrow as you visit the majestic Machu Picchu.

Day 7: Visit the iconic Machu Picchu

Rise early to embark on the highlight of your trip: a visit to the iconic Machu Picchu. With a private guide, explore the ancient Incan citadel, marveling at the architectural wonders, including the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana Stone and the Inca Bridge. Take your time to absorb the magnificence of this UNESCO World Heritage site, with its impressive stone structures and spectacular mountain backdrop.

For a more tranquil experience, consider booking a private early morning tour, when the site is less crowded. Allowing you to savor the stillness and beauty of Machu Picchu in peace. Day 8: Return to Cusco and explore
