Curator’s statement

London is a great destination for those who love big city travel. Full of lush green spaces, enchanting history and pretty cafes for sipping afternoon tea, London is a great city to explore alone or with friends. The first time I visited London was on a solo trip and I loved it so much I went back just a year later for a trip with my girlfriends! I loved getting lost in the quaint neighborhoods full of colorful buildings, riding the tube, trying the international cuisines (there's a big Indian food scene) and experiencing the Afro-Caribbean culture that is found in certain pockets of the city. Overall, London is a city where you can easily immerse yourself in food, history, art and local gems.

Day 1: Explore Southwark

Borough Market

Begin your day with a quick lunch at Borough Market. This fresh food market contains multiple varieties of local and international foods and cuisines. I had an Indian chaat dish from one of the stalls that made me fall in love with Indian food.

Tate Modern

After your lunch, walk over to Tate Modern to browse collections of modern works from the 1900s up until present day. I found the exhibits to be refreshing and introspective portrayals of modern life through artwork. A definite must-see.

Tower Bridge

While you are in the neighborhood visit Tower Bridge, one of London's most iconic landmarks. Walk across the glass floors and take in panoramic views of the city. When you're done take a stroll along the river Thames.

14 Hills Restaurant

Head back to your hotel to freshen up. Then grab dinner at 14 Hills, a trendy, jungle-esque rooftop restaurant for modern British dining. View iconic landmarks like Tower Bridge and The Shard from the rooftop garden.

Day 2: Palaces, Pizza, Parks and Pubs

Walking Tour of London

A great way to hit all the main attractions in London is with a walking tour. Take the afternoon get to know London's history, view the world-famous Buckingham Palace and other royal residences, and get pictures with notable landmarks such as the Westminster Abby and Big Ben. The changing of the guard's ceremony takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Be sure to book a tour for this day if you want to witness it!

Circolo Popolare Restaurant

When you're done exploring, take a break at Circolo Popolare, a glamorous trattoria in London's Soho district. Serving tasty Sicilian pizzas, pastas and craft cocktails you'll feel like you've been transported to a charming Italian village.

Queen Mary's Rose Garden

Unlike most large cities, London is covered in beautiful green spaces. After lunch, walk over to Queen Mary's Rose Garden to explore London's largest collection of roses, home to over 12,000 blooms each year. The garden makes for a perfect photo backdrop or a peaceful place to people watch.

Old Bank of England

End the night with classic British pub fare and cocktails at Old Bank of England. Originally the old law court's branch of the Bank of England, this pub is decorated with art deco style furnishings, stunning, geometric, high ceilings and beautiful industrial chandeliers.

Day 3: Shopping and High Tea

Covent Garden

Located in London's West End district, Covent Garden is a shopping and entertainment hub featuring luxury shops, restaurants serving upscale European fare and live shows. Spend an afternoon here browsing through the high-end boutiques, admiring the colorful and flower filled cafes or enjoying a live show in the piazza.

Dalloway Terrace

Make a reservation for afternoon tea at Dalloway Terrace. Located in the luxurious Bloomsbury Hotel, this chic restaurant features blooming terraces and darling dessert towers that make for a cute Instagram moment.

Optional: Cococure

If you need to let loose, a night a Cococure definitely won't disappoint. Check out this fun night club with an amazing DJ, playing afro beats and popular hip-hop mixes. The party starts after midnight, so feel free to take your time getting ready. I would suggest purchasing a ticket in advance as they'll usually be sold out at the door.
