Things to do

Excursions through the ship
Your cruise ship will likely offer several options for onshore excursions at each port. Everything from guided walking tours to horseback riding, to wine tasting in exclusive wineries. If you book strategically, you can get some good deals, and your cruise may offer credits that can be applied to these excursions. Perks of booking with the cruise include vetted vendors and trusted partners, premium experiences, and most importantly, the ship will not leave you behind if your group is running late to the port. This can be one of the safer, least anxiety-inducing ways to explore the port and surrounding areas when cruising.
Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
When you visit Barcelona, Spain, you have to check out at least one Gaudi building. One of the most popular ones you can visit is the Cathedral, Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. Its intricate and whimsical design, featuring towering spires, ornate facades and stunning stained-glass windows, is a testament to Gaudí's genius. Step inside and marvel at the breathtaking interiors bathed in kaleidoscopic light, where every detail tells a story. When I visited, I opted for a guided tour, but I was so mesmerized by the details that I could barely pay attention to what was being said once I was inside. If you love this one, you will likely want to visit his other buildings. I recommend Casa Batllo and Park Guell.
Take a Day Trip to Monaco
A day trip to Monaco from a cruise is a must for experiencing the epitome of luxury and glamor. Monaco is a small country on the French Riviera. On a day tour, you can wander through the historic Old Town, where you’ll want to stop for a bite to eat as the aromas will surely pull you in.
You can visit the stunning Prince's Palace and watch the changing of the guard ceremony and pay respects at the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried. Take in breathtaking views from the Exotic Garden or the Oceanographic Museum perched atop the famed Rock of Monaco. With its blend of rich history and modern extravagance, Monaco offers an unforgettable taste of the high life.
Visit Pompeii in Naples
A day trip to the ancient ruins of Pompeii is a must for any cruise stopping in Naples.
You’ll have lots of time to wander the grounds frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and imagine what life was like before that fateful day. Take time to explore the temples, gardens of homes of past residents. Marvel at the haunting plaster casts of Pompeii's ill-fated residents in the museum. You can opt for a guided tour or take time to explore on your own.
