Curator’s statement
Staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos is the perfect mix of luxury and family-friendly fun, which isn’t always easy to find. We were there for a wedding, but it ended up being a full-on vacation for all of us, especially the kids.
The hotel itself is incredible. There are tons of pools and three water slides my kids couldn't get enough of. They have this awesome Kids Club where they do everything from crafts to games. This gave my husband and I some much-needed downtime and help during the wedding because it was open into the evening. It’s all-inclusive, so we didn’t have to stress about meals or snacks. Between the buffets and casual dining spots, even our picky eaters found something they liked.

Things to do in Cabo San Lucas
There are many pools at Hard Rock Los Cabos but definitely have something for everyone. The Lyric Pool is where the action is at — it’s huge, with areas for both kids and adults, plus water slides, foam parties and live music. For a more chill vibe, there's the Echo Pool, which is adults-only and perfect for relaxing. If you're feeling social, head to the Legendary Pool, and for total relaxation, the Rhythm Pool has poolside service. Our favorite was the Red pool and Eden pool because it was more remote and quite where the kids could play and not worry about too many other people. No matter your mood, there's a pool that fits your day!
The resort also has a Rock Spa for relaxation. There is an Escapology escape room, which they have a kids mode our family did and even my 4-year-old absolutely loved. They have a fully equipped Body Rock Fitness Center for those who like to stay active on vacation. For entertainment, you’ll find live music and nightly shows, plus a variety of themed events. Note that throughout the hotel, the music is played very loud from 9 am – 10 pm daily, so if you don't like loud music, this may not be the resort for you. There’s also a Kids Club with supervised activities to keep younger guests entertained that my kids really loved!
The beach outside Hard Rock Los Cabos is stunning with soft sand and the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. While the beach is perfect for lounging and soaking up the sun, swimming isn’t allowed due to the strong currents. The lifeguards at the resort take it very seriously and blow their whistle at anyone getting too close to the water. However, the sound of the waves and the view make it a peaceful spot to relax. We brought my kids sand toys and every morning before the pools opened, we spent time playing in the sand on the beach building castles.
Day trips
We signed up for a sunset cruise to the Arches, and let me just say, it was my favorite. The boat took us to El Arco, which is the famous rock formation you always see in pictures. It was even more impressive in real life. The kids were so excited when we spotted sea lions lounging on the rocks and the big cruise ships with lots of light at night. I suggest paying more to do a private or semi-private cruise like what we did. There were less than 10 people onboard and it was much more exclusive compared to other party-style cruises, we say go by.
Places to eat & drink in Cabo San Lucas
When it comes to food, Hard Rock Los Cabos is on par with most other All-Inclusive Resorts. I would probably not recommend it if good food is your #1 priority. This resort is more about the atmosphere and entertainment. The resort does have a wide variety of restaurants, all included in your stay, so we can try something different every day.
For breakfast, lunch or dinner, The Market buffet is a great option, offering a little bit of everything, from local Mexican dishes to international flavors. It’s perfect for families, since everyone could find something they liked.
If you want a sit-down meal, there’s Ciao, which serves up Italian dishes. It was our favorite dinner.
Zen is the hotel’s Asian restaurant, featuring sushi and hibachi-style dining, which adds some fun for the kids. Hibachi is the only thing that takes reservations and we couldn't get in during the time we were there unless we wanted to eat at 9 pm, which was too late for us.
For Mexican cuisine, Los Gallos was great for lunch. It had a modern twist on traditional Mexican dishes.
And if you’re in the mood for steak, go to Toro, the resort's steakhouse and a good wine list.
In between meals, the poolside bars serve snacks, drinks and cocktails, so you don’t have to leave your lounge chair.
There’s also a Pizzeria, an ice cream shop and a coffee bar we frequented throughout the day.
