Curator’s statement

Miami is a location that can balance all the things a good girls trip is looking for; beach, spa, outdoor dining, nightlife, shopping and the arts. It's warm when girlfriends in the colder locations want to escape the winter and an easy flight from most airports.

Day 1: Arrive in Miami

View from the room's balcony of 1Hotel Miami.

You're likely to arrive to Miami late afternoon depending on where you're coming from.

Check into your hotel and get a cocktail from the downstairs bar to bring to the room as you get ready for the night. We stayed at the 1Hotel South Beach and I'd stay there again...and again. We were upgraded to a balcony room which was a great perk!

We walked from our hotel to The Broken Shaker, a fun cocktail bar with a colorful, laidback outdoor setting around a pool. Late night the lighting is moody/disco-y and the inside bar is usually packed, spilling out to the pool.

Bopping over to the Faena Hotel from there to have appetizers and drinks at the Living Room. The bar is beautiful and the people watching was solid.

We walked through the hotel to the Cabaret Show, also at the Faena Hotel for an 8:30 p.m. performance. The show was incredibly sexy and entertaining and we were on our feet dancing by the end of it. We had more snacks and drinks there and went back to the hotel afterwards for a quick cocktail on the roof at Watr.

Day 2: Spa Day

An indoor hallway with tree branches decorating the wall

Have a healthy breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Habitat. They recommend the buffet but I don't -- the menu items are incredible and you don't have to make-your-own-anything.

After breakfast, head up to the Bamford Wellness Spa for treatments. Take time in the relaxation room because it is truly relaxing and you can whisper girl talk without disrupting people. We got various treatments -- rose quartz facial, relaxing massage, an awakening facial-- all of us came out feeling next level relaxed and ready to hit the pool.

In retrospect I would've booked a cabana for the day because the pool was packed, but instead we put our toes in the sand and grabbed chairs on the beach instead. We had lunch at Tala Beach a moroccan vibe of a beach bar in the sand with a DJ playing beats. While I was in a bikini and thought otherwise of it, I did order the burger. It did not disappoint.

For dinner we went to Mila. It was a bit of a scene and kinda overrated but I can see how some would think it was beautiful and worth it to say you've been. Get the Miso Cod and the Truffle Pasta - skip the sushi. There was a fire twirler performance during dinner and as it got later the vibe got better.

After Mila, we went to what was likely our favorite stop in all of Miami, Medium Cool for drinks. It's an underground jazz bar that had live jazz until it got to be 'late' and then a DJ came on and it was like a whole different bar. We loved it there.

Finished our night again at Watr for a rooftop drink before bed.

Day 3: Exploring Wynwood and the Design District

After grabbing an AM coffee we hopped in an Uber to Wynwood Walls and did the museum there which was interesting, a bit of culture and indoor/outdoor on a beautiful morning. From there we went to brunch at Swan Miami, Pharrell William's restaurant. We sat outside, although the interiors are beautiful. As you can imagine the music was great and the brunch menu was great -- highly recommend both benedicts and the sparkling rose.

We shopped around the Design District after that -- great shops and fun streets to walk around. Popped into Contessa for an aperol spritz at the bar before heading back to our hotel for some drinks beachside.

After drinks on the beach we got ready for the eve and went to Sweet Liberty and then to Lucali for a long dinner outside. They don't take reservations but we didn't wait long and the espesso martinis were 100 and the pizza was incredible. Get a spicy fusilli for the table because who doesn't need a pasta share plate? We had another bar in mind for this night (The Drexel) but opted to head back to our hotel and spend some time giggling in the room watching a comedy special.

Day 4: Head out

A white plate with an omelet and bread basket on an outdoor table.

We started out with a big long walk along the beach and then packed up and took our stuff to brunch at Alma since we hadn't gotten Cuban food yet (and needed it) and then straight to the airport.
