As a lover of food and wine, Montepulciano is one of my favorite places I've traveled to. Its town is picturesque, the restaurants offer fantastic local cuisine and the wineries are some of the best in the world. There's so much history to explore. The countryside is dotted with beautiful hotels and villas, making it an ideal place to unwind and soak up the stunning surroundings. Montepulciano is perfect destination for a relaxing standalone getaway, or a perfect addition to a larger Italian adventure.

Tour the wineries
Montepulciano is famous for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wine. Visit some of the renowned wineries, such as Avignonesi, Cantina del Redi, De' Ricci and MastroJani to learn about the wine-making process and enjoy tastings in centuries-old cellars.
Shop and stroll through the historic center
Wander the charming medieval streets of Montepulciano, with its beautiful Renaissance architecture, quaint piazzas and stunning views over the Val d'Orcia. Be sure to visit Piazza Grande, the town’s main square, surrounded by impressive buildings.
Take a cooking class
Tuscany is known for its incredible food, and Montepulciano is no exception. Join a local cooking class to learn how to prepare traditional Tuscan dishes, from pasta to desserts, using fresh, local ingredients.
Hike or bike the scenic countryside
