Things to do in Punta de Mita
Boho-chic shopping and surf lessons in Sayulita: It's a great place to roam the fun shops that include artisan chocolate, beachwear and jewelry.
Adventures: Punta de Mita offers zip lining, sunset horseback rides, hiking and more, all within ten minutes from your resort.
Wellness: The area is known for its indigenous roots. The local peoples still practice healing arts and you can experience a wellness ceremony with a local shaman. Additionally the resorts have amazing and authentic spas that will enrich your mind, body and soul.
Watersports: Take a catamaran tour of the bay and enjoy a cocktail or deep sea fishing.
Excursion: Marietas Islands are a unique UNESCO world site. An advance reservation is required to visit via boat. Not to be missed.
Day Trips: Puerto Vallarta - Head to PV for a more vibrant vibe and have dinner at Cafe des Artistes. If you are there during the day, take a taco tour with a local guide and enjoy five stops at taco restaurants.
Places to eat & drink in Punta de Mita
Dinner
Casa Teresa: Intimate Italian and authentic pastas.
Tuna Blanca: My favorite seaside locale for amazing, high quality cuisine.
Hector's Kitchen: Local chef highlights fresh ingredients and amazing cocktails (cooking classes too).
MINA: Fun and delicious casual dining on the beach.
Lunch
Makai: A local hangout with great food.
Norma's Tacos: Casual and delicious hand made tortillas.
Beer
Cerveceria Artesanal San Pancho: The name says it all. It is a small microbrewery in San Francisco (San Pancho) that features the artisanal craft.
Cocktails
My favorite hangout is in Sayulita. Frente al Punto is a beach club restaurant, located near the center. The chef is a cool guy who loves great drinks, food and surfing. Enjoy the club (beach chairs, volleyball, surfing) while ordering up some amazing cocktails of tequila, mezcal and fresh squeezed juices. It opens at 2pm so you can enjoy food, fun and an amazing sunset before heading back to your resort.
