Curator’s statement

One of my favorite places in Mexico to visit is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I have never had a bad experience when visiting and the locals are some of the nicest you will ever meet. A place that attracts people from all over the world to explore the beaches, shops and all the local cuisine. If you are looking for a place to relax and an atmosphere that is accepting of all people, then head to Puerto Vallarta for a wonderful travel experience. This guide focuses mostly on the Zona Romantica area of Puerto Vallarta.

Favorite Beach Bars To Enjoy The Ocean:

Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Sushi - Located on the beach, they offer day passes with a pool and a swim-up bar on the beach. Mantamar is a popular location to enjoy live music, parties, food and fresh sushi.

Ritmos Beach Café - Perhaps the second most popular beach bar location in the Zona Romantica area. Located next to Mantamar, they offer great food, drinks and their prices are more reasonable.

Bar del Hotel Blue Chairs - One of the most iconic locations for years, you will find this beach location near all of the action with live entertainment. Unfortunately, the last couple of visits, you can see the age, but they still offer a great place to relax in the sun.

Sapphire Ocean Club - Just as the name sounds, expect an elevated experience at this beach club. You can purchase a day pass here to enjoy their pool, beach chairs, food and great drinks.

Places to eat & drink in Puerto Vallarta

La Cappela Restaurant - This Italian inspired cuisine is sure to climb to the top of one of your favorites. Set high up on the mountain, it overlooks the ocean and city, giving you breathtaking sunset views. The violinist truly sets the mood for a beautiful dinner. Dress code and reservation is required.

The Iguana Restaurant and Tequila Bar - Located at the Casa Kimberly Hotel, the ambiance of this restaurant will surely impress. Once the home of the American Actress Elizabeth Taylor, you can feel the history all around you as you enjoy your fine dining experience. Make sure you make a reservation and follow their strict dress code that is enforced here.

Los Molcajetes - This was the first time and place that I ever tried Al Pastor Tacos, so it is my go-to place when visiting. A variety of taco choices and menu options, this restaurant is centrally located to a lot of live-action scenery. This is a great place to start the night out before you head to the bars or even the morning after for a quick recovery meal.

La Palapa - Located on the beach, you can enjoy this favorite for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Blondies - This is a favorite place for a cocktail slush, mix drinks, wine or light bites after the beach. You will always find fun and friendly staff and patrons here.
