Things to do in Kauai

As soon as you arrive at the Lihue airport, I recommend a quick drive to Wailua Falls, on the way to your stay in Kapa’a. At Wailua Falls, you don’t need your boots. This is an amazing double-tiered feature, as it's super easy and accessible.

I recommend staying in Kapa'a as it’s a short drive from the airport. It has great beaches and easy access to both the North and South Shores.

If you head north from Kapa’a you run into Princeville and Hanalei. These are some of the best views on the island whether you’re at the beach or venture inland to the secret falls by horse-back.

To the south shore, you have my favorite tow on the island, Poipu, and there’s the neighboring town of Koloa. I love staying on the south shore as these are the best beaches for swimming. You can sit back and chill on the world-famous Poipu beach to watch the sea turtles swim by or catch a Monk seal napping or rent a boogie board. Hit up Puka Dog at Brennecke Beach or venture to the town of Koloa for a delicious poke bowl.
